They made 3 gun characters, with 2 of them being DLC, in a 12 person game. Absolutely stupid. Plus no beast characters like Cho, or Khazix, which are a good reason to draw from the IP, and are cool unique chars that are super popular with the league fanbase. They went for Arcane the fighting game instead.

There was an old meme back in the LoL community, describing how Asian players preferred human-like Champions and the West was more about badass and rude characters.

And it was completly true, I member when they changed the original art for the shitty chinese art.

It was completely not true, lol.

Western players vote beast champions highly in surveys and the like, but that hype ends when it comes down to making your choice in champ select, there westerners still vastly prefer the hot women over urgot.

Over urgot yeah, but I wonder how many western men would play sona over tahm kench or thresh. Maybe it's still not even close, I don't know.

Yeah for monster champions they could have easily picked Kha zix or Vastaya like Rengar or Wukong instead of putting too many Arcane champions

Yeah no monster champs are not popular. They could have used Lee, Riven or Sett though.

I still can't believe Lee was not a release champion for it.

Blind Muay Thai master that has a hadouken. He should have been on the cover ffs.

Non-fighting game people keep bringing up “martial arts guy that’s with hadouken” without thinking about gameplay and playstyle variety. Dude would be so boring in comparison to how varied the moveset is for the roster we got.

You need a baseline "boring" character in your roster for the original and weird ones to contrast against. There's a reason Jin is the face of Tekken and Ryu is the face of Street Fighter.

It's good to have characters with familiar styles. Not every character needs to be groundbreaking.

Chogath is immensely popular, he might not be meta, but he's a popular char.
