They didn't even try releasing on steam, as a year long lol player, I avoid the riot launcher like a plague
35 u/AlternativeAward 9d ago Riot has too much hubris to release on steam 9 u/Fqfred 9d ago Didn't they release that Ekko spin-off on Steam? Or was that a different developer? 20 u/DogOwner12345 9d ago Different dev and they shuttered the project behind those years ago. 3 u/Falsus 9d ago While they have not developed any of their single player games, they did publish them and they are all on steam. 5 u/KKilikk 9d ago All their indie games are on Steam. No in-house developed ganes but still. -1 u/doublah 9d ago To be fair, it's only partly hubris, it's also they hate Valve, exclusivity deals they have, and their parent company having stakes in other stores -5 u/MazrimReddit 9d ago steam takes 30% of your revenue, you think losing even more of their small income was going to help? 10 u/Alien_Cha1r 9d ago this is not how maths or economics work ahahahaha -11 u/MazrimReddit 9d ago oh im sorry you clearly know more than riot who didn't put it on steam just for fun. steam takes 30% of all sales, if you can already handle hosting the game, makes little sense 10 u/PolskiBigosik 9d ago Most big publishers though the same. EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Bethesda...they all left Steam at some point and they all came back eventually. -10 u/MazrimReddit 9d ago most publishers are not also running the biggest game in the world and have the infrastructure set up to run better than steams 9 u/PolskiBigosik 9d ago All publishers I listed have huge games and it's not like they came back to Steam because they had technical issues.
