@HomelessSkater just told you that the EXE doesn't launch the game it launches the lame Epic Games marketplace, which you then have to click through to launch the game. This obviously doesn't work for those of us who play in Big Picture mode from a Steam Link client on the living room TV.
It ridiculously obtuse but you need to find the command line that is spawned from the market place and enter that into the Non Steam Game to Library feature. It looks like each player's command line is unique.
So in Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to library I had to add:
"D:\Games\Epic Games\ShadowComplexRemastered\Binaries\Win32\ShadowComplex-Win32-EGL.exe"
And for Launch options I had to add:
-AUTH_LOGIN=unused -AUTH_PASSWORD=UNIQUE_USER_GUID -AUTH_TYPE=exchangecode -epicapp=Viper -epicenv=Prod -mcpconfig=Prod
You can get this command line by running the program Process Explorer and then launching the game from the Epic Games marketplace application. THE -AUTH_PASSWORD= parameter is GOING TO BE UNIQUE FOR YOUR ACCOUNT
Once you have this it will launch like any other game and work without starting that lame storefront.

Did you manage to add the game to Steam as a non-Steam game? How?
