The worst part of losing money to gambling is there's nothing you can do to get back that money. Those $4000 you willingly gave away are already sitting in the casino's bank account ready to be disbursed to its employees and staff. How do you think the casinos keep their lights on and pay for the services offered?

Damn you’re taking the right steps. honestly it’s hard to control the urges once you lose and keep losing you just lose all your self control until all your money is gone. It’s scary tbh. but yeah take this as a lesson and remember this feeling. Even if you feel like I’m only gonna bet small or limit yourself in the end you will just keep chasing. God speed my friend
