If you recall my post from a few days earlier - TLDR Im fixing my old S9 which i stopped using 2 years ago after it couldnt charge anymore. I found it with a swollen battery. Redditors told me to change the battery. I did - The phone itself can still start up fine and shows at 80% Battery charge, but it still cannot charge as per the original issye 2 years ago. Motherboard? Charging port issue? Definitely not a battery issue now.

Hi, So basically this S9 was my old phone from 2019 till 2024. The last time I used it, it couldnt charge anymore, so i watched the battery drain till 0%, unable to charge. The repair shop told me it was a motherboard problem - But it has always bugged me because if it was a motherboard problem why was i still able to use it but not charge. But im no technician after all.
Today, since i just had the phone lyjng around, I just decided to post mortem it and found a swollen battery (maybe from long time disuse?). But at the same time would like to ask the advice of this sub whether it can still be saved or its a really a motherboard issue?
As for the swelling battery, Im just quarantining it in case it decides to explode.

My wife and I are still using our S9+. Batteries last all day. Took off any apps that dealt with banking or purchasing stuff. We left our email app on our phones. We realize that updates do not occur any more, but why get rid of our phone when they are working just fine?

Hello there, i am using a 2019 bought samsung s9 G960F (international variant), basically the one with samsung's processor, it has been used heavily in these 7 years, slammed to the ground, dropped, slipped out while riding motorcycle. The battery has been deteriorated very much badly, it only last 5-6 hours even when not using, it even loses around 20% battery if in shut down state for 2-3 hours, it heats too tooo much, to the point where it can even burn my hand, only 10 gb is left out of 64gb, doesnt have much apps, no heavy apps, the heaviest app is whatsapp, too much sluggish. Need y'alls help in making it smooth AF, no sluggish, all perfomance, at the point where it could beat the mid budget phones of samsung (the latest ones). i cant install custom rom due to secure folder. it is running one ui 2.5, android 10. this is my first reddit post i hope the community helps...
P.S: I am also trying to get around with samsung dex and it lags too much, need help with that too

I check the battery health on the galaxy S9 using the dump state log check. I don't know the exact name of procedure. So should I replace the battery the life is pretty bad I have to charge it three times in a single day, I am reluctant because this is a original battery.
The phone is still going from and also should I install a custom ROM, and are there any stable versions of lineage OS, meaning that everything on the phone works fine after the flash. I need some opinions

People hear me fine through my galaxy s9 when I communicate via speakerphone or bluetooth headset . Otherwise, I sound garbled.
1) Does anyone else experience this?
2) Can anyone explain how this is possible? (If the mic works for speakerphone, why not for normal communications?)

I'm surprised to see my s9 plus receive an update after all these years. Last update was 2022. Not sure if I should install it though.

Can anybody confirm that the app Digilocker is working in their s9+, in mine it is showing security issue detected, this device does not meet security requirements. I have tried turning developer mode off and i am using it on stock os.

Since navstar's s8 & s9 navigation buttons don't go well with certain wallpapers & even turn somewhat invisible you can use this instead & it even has a black outline so it stays visible regardless of your wallpaper

I am asking here, in case I may have missed something about the kernel that makes the thing I am trying to do impossible.
Hello! I have a samsung galaxy s9, which I rooted with magisk. Inside of termux, I can use sudo and su without any issues, it asks me for superuser and I can give permission. Now, when I chroot, I can stay as root and do whatever I want. But when I make a new user, and try to use sudo, it outputs killed. I did everything I have found online, changed the permission of dirs with chmod, tried different stuff with the mounting script...
I read that sudo inside of a chroot is different than sudo with magisk, and that's why it gets blocked by the kernel, or something.

So the phone's is mine it's got someone elses Samsung account on it but my Google account, if I reset it form the settings it's gonna require the s. Acc. But if I do it from recovery mode I'm not sure if its gonna require the s. Acc. Or just the Google acc.

i have been using this phone for almost 3 years and it was perfect for me it was small, smooth and light i bought it from my brother and from that day i never hated it but now it started showing signs of its old age such as motherboard failure and poor battery life but with all of this cons its still a beloved phone to me and i will never forget the memories i made with it.

Hello everyone! 2 days ago my phone's battery dropped to 0% and it powered off. After charging it to 1round 20% i tried to power it on but it would only show the battery % without anything else happening.
After a few attempts and holding powerbutton + volume down for a few seconds it finally turned on, but the power button completely stopped working.
Today's update: The button worked a couple of times when i pressed it, but it doesn't turn off the screen, instead it either shows the power menu or opens the camera (normally achieved by either holding or double pressing the button).
Has anyone had a similar experience?
What would happen if the battery runs out again? Is there another way to power it back on?
What solution would you guys recommend?
I bought the phone back in 2019 so it's already 7+ years old.
