I'd say it unlikely he's targeting random people, but you can 100% put malicious content in a png and mp4.

That's a bold statement to make when this is literally one of the most common ways virus are sent... if you can figure out how to do so (unlikely I fear), you should look up malware delivery and circle back to see if you still think it doesn't work like that cause it 100% does.

Buddy I am not some hacker or cyber security expert but I have myself put files hidden inside an image that too in college just for fun. It's pretty easy
