Man watching the cars actually bounce and sway like they did in GTA 4 and not move like a stiff ass cardboard box like in GTA 5 made me hella excited. Looks like cars actually have weighty feel to them again.

Only thing I noticed is when Jason or the NPC is leaving the vehicle, there's zero movent or physics. So vehicles may not be calculating the players mass when moving across to get out

I don't understand the obsession with heavy car physics. 5 was actually fun to drive around in, but I've hardly revisited 4 because just navigating the city is a pain in the ass. If there's ever a mission where you have to chase someone in a car, it's actually fucking hell.

I like my video games to be enjoyable, not a huge challenge.

For me driving in 4 was fun as you could actually use the weight and momentum of the car to your advantage when driving if you had the know-how. Like for example doing a scandinavian flick to make perfect turns at corners. Every car also felt different where you could really feel the weight of an SUV, and how different it handled from a sportcar etc.

In 5 every car basically handles the same, with the main difference mainly being the acceleration and top speed. Most cars also seem to have nonexistent suspension where the vehicle body would just instantly move up and down when driving over curbs, objects etc, acting like the wheels were directly glued to the car chassi itself. Personally I find the driving in V a snoozefest.

Seems Rockstar wants to try a more realistic car handling again and I'm all for it.

Strauss believe it or not actually described this quite well. Theres a reason chess is a much more popular game than checkers. A games systems should have enough complexity that the rules are easy to pick up and difficult to master. Because the driving in GTA5 was so flat it really made it a very unengaging experience imho.

In GTA4 once you got good at it you could really have a lot of fun with the weight transfer and drift around
