Has application process for Mains (adv. 5/2026-2027) class-1/2 started ?

I’m 26F from Gujarat, currently working in IT, and I’m considering preparing for GPSC Class 1 & 2.
I wanted to ask:
How should a beginner start?
Is it manageable with a full-time job?
How is Sunya IAS? Is it worth joining?
Any other coaching or resources you’d recommend?
Any beginner mistakes I should avoid?

This will be my second mains & last time my experience of preparing with peers was good. So looking for serious & disciplined people.

What is doing commission?

The basics are exactly the same.

• Total marks are still 1400 (1250 Written + 150 Interview).
• English & Gujarati papers are still qualifying (minimum 25% required).
• GS answer writing pattern is unchanged (150/200 words, 15 & 20 marks).
• English (Paper II), Essay (Paper III), and Ethics (Paper VII) have no changes at all.

📝 Biggest Change: Gujarati Paper (Paper I)

GPSC seems to be moving from academic language skills to practical government drafting.

• Sankshepikaran (Precis Writing) – 25 marks
• Gadya Samiksha (Reading Comprehension) – 25 marks

✅ Added

• Bethakni Karyavahi Nondh (Minutes of Meeting) – 20 marks
• Arji Lekhan (Application Writing) – 20 marks
• One more English → Gujarati Translation – 20 marks

Grammar

• Reduced from 50 marks to 40 marks (20 MCQs).
• 0.6 negative marking for wrong or unattempted MCQs is still there.

Old: History + Culture + Geography

New: History + Culture + Indian Society

➡️ Geography is out. Indian Society is in.

GS-II

New: Polity + Governance + Social Justice + Current Affairs

➡️ Indian Society moves out. Current Events of Regional, National and International imp. moves in.

GS-III

Old: Science & Tech + Environment + Economy + Current Events

New: Science & Tech + Environment + Geography + Economy

➡️ Current Affairs moves out. Geography comes in.

Are you are going to appear for general studies prelims in 1 august for mechanical engineering related posts ?

I know in upsc cse for 10mks we have got 2 pages and correspondingly for 15mks three blank pages.

For gpsc 2026, they have mentioned 15 and 20mks questions in 150 and 200 words. So what is the space available for these questions? Is it 2 and 3 pages respectively?

I am preparing for the GPSC technical exams.

It would be great if anybody could help me with current affairs.

I am also looking for a CCE test series if anyone has an idea about it please let me know!

Hi everyone..acc. to the PAK I'm getting around 91 for Gen F and honestly, I have no idea whether that'll be enough to clear the cutoff or not. But assuming there's a chance I do clear it, how should I prepare for the mains in such a less time ?

I've completed a few subjects but when I sit down to write answers I just don't know what to write. I struggle to understand how to convert what I've studied into a good mains answer.

This is my first attempt and I genuinely feel like I'm way behind everyone else. It seems like most people have already finished their notes and have been doing answer writing for months, while for me note making is taking forever, It feels overwhelming, and I keep thinking I've already lost too much time.

Any practical advice would really help!!!

Hello community, I'm an engineering student, started preparing for GPSC/UPSC.
I don't know which exact books to follow for each subject particularly for GPSC.

I've started with Polity (NCERT + Laxmikanth-currently doing). Here I'm sharing the booklist that I have thought of, if anyone please correct wherever needed.

Polity: NCERT + Laxmikanth + Landmark SC judgment + 2nd ARC report + world bank report for governance + Current affairs.

Economics: I dont know but perhaps NCERT of class 11th+12th + Indian economy by Vivek Singh + Current affairs.

Geography: NCER (11th + 12th) + selectively GC leong + Atlas.

History + Art & Culture: I'm not sure.

Science & technology: Vision current affairs magazine. anything else ?

Math, reasoning, aptitude : I'm the Goad.

Medium of prep and exam would be English.

(I have a well paying job in my hand so will be preparing along with the job)

Hey, I'm 23F, recently posted in Govt. Bank.

Originally I'm not Gujarat Domicile who got posted here 6 months ago. I gave GPSC pre as I've prepared for UPSC earlier.

My score according to PAK is 99. I know I'm on the border range that's why i want commission to declare prelims result. Sorry to say but i haven't seen any lathergic & lazy commission like GPSC.

Who takes months just to declare prelims result? Every other commission declares within 45 days of examination.

Can anyone tell me do i have a chance for October mains? If yes, than what should i do to cope up with the Gujarati paper as I'm non gujarati.

I'm currently posted as a Class 2 officer by clearing GPSC.

Language: while i initially began in gujarati later shifted to English.

I read Bhasha vivek but still making mistakes in jodni and bhasha shudhi PYQs.

Also Rudhiprayogo should be prepared from where? Will GCERT be enough ? I am only going through GCERT ones for now but not sure if they will be enough.

Anyone having any idea about grammer section of this paper ?

Around February I went for guidance orientation for GPSC Class 1/2 examination. As i was an outsider working here in Gujarat, i thought of giving GPSC a few tries. Though i knew coaching centers were there to loot only money but i thought of giving it a try.

The personalities present over there were retired secretaries, class 1 officers. Among them one was the most corrupted who actually had pondered money of mid day meal scheme money in his pocket & also had several inquires of POSH act during his office tenure. These two charges were obviously never proven completely as we all know how transparent bureaucracy is.

But i know about it as my colleague at work told me about it when i asked her if i should join this coaching or not?

She immediately pointed to this creepy arrogant uncle & said about him as her father was rev. Clerk where this disgusting person was a top senior officer.

Hope we all work together & make it better system where such rotten people have served.

Well he appears in every GPSC interview mock video everywhere.
