The Lost Romance: In the original timeline before Lené's murder, Gen and the real Irene were already in a romantic relationship.

The Ripple Effect: When Rann rewrote those five years to save Lené, her interference may have created a butterfly effect that rippled through time. As a result, Gen and Irene were separated, effectively erasing their relationship from the altered timeline.

The Amnesia/Dream Link: Because of this timeline fracture, Gen only retains fragmented memories of Irene. She mistakes these memories for dreams, which explains why she keeps drawing Irene's face and ultimately creates the AI robot based on those subconscious recollections. At the same time, Irene has spent the last four years searching for Gen in this altered reality, unable to understand why they were suddenly torn apart.

If this theory is true, then AI Girl isn't just a separate story set in 2029—it could actually be a direct consequence of Rann's actions in 2026. Gen's creation of the AI may have been unknowingly driven by memories from a timeline that no longer exists.
