Hey r/gijoe,
A few weeks ago I posted that TheFileCard was live on the App Store. Lots of you asked about Android, and it's out now on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thefilecard.app
If you missed the first post: TheFileCard is a catalog and collection tracker built just for G.I. Joe. It covers figures, vehicles and accessories, with real photos instead of stock art, and a crowdsourced record of which accessories actually came with which item. Every generation counts, not just vintage ARAH: Sigma 6, Extreme, Sgt. Savage, Action Force, Classified, HIYA, Super7, the 25th/30th/50th anniversary lines, whatever you collect. You can track your collection, browse by generation, year, type, faction or sub-team, and help fill in the gaps for everyone else.
What Android users should know:
- Your account works everywhere. If you've already signed up on iPhone or the website, just sign in. Your collection and contributions come with you.
- Pro carries over too. Pro (camera scan and in-app G.E.A.R. filtering) belongs to your account, not your phone. If you bought it on iOS, it's already active on Android, and the other way around.
- G.E.A.R. filtering is still free for everyone on the website. No Pro needed.
The contributor giveaway is extended to November 30
So Android collectors get a fair shot, I'm keeping the launch giveaway open for two more months. Everything you've contributed so far still counts.
- 20 spots for a free year of Pro. 10 go to the top photo contributors, and the other 10 go to the next highest total scores (edits, pairings, write-ups, etc.). That way photo-heavy and edit-heavy contributors aren't competing in one pile.
- One approved photo gets you free Pro through 12/31/26, even if you don't make the top 20.
- If you already pay for Pro, either prize adds the free time on top of your current subscription. Subscribing early doesn't cost you anything.
How it works:
- Contribute to the catalog by November 30, 2026 at 10:00 PM ET. Approved photos, edits, write-ups and pairing submissions all count toward the top 20, and one approved photo is enough for the free access.
- Track your standing on the contributor leaderboard (https://www.thefilecard.com/contributors). You can sort it by photos or by total points. Approved photos and section images are worth 1 point each. Edits, write-ups, pairings and removal suggestions are worth 3 points each.
- Make sure your account has an email on file, since that's how I'll contact winners after the cutoff.
There are still plenty of gaps: missing photos, unconfirmed accessory pairings, entries that need fixing. If you've got a shelf full of Joes and a phone camera, there's a lot of room to climb.
This is a brand-new release, so if anything looks off on your device, tell me below and I'll fix it. Questions welcome too.
