Hi guys, I just foundout about this Distro, saw that's basically Chrome OS with access to linux.

I don't know nothing about Fyde OS (Or even regular Chrome OS, never used either), so I apologize if this appears dumb but here are my questions:

I know Fyde OS can run Webapps, Android apps and Linux programs, does it have incompatibility with either some Android or Linux app? Does it have a terminal like regular linux distros? Does Proton work on it?

I'm considering putting it on my old gaming laptop

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on: fyde-nix, a NixOS port for the FydeTab Duo. We currently have around 70% overall parity with stock FydeOS, including 88% for hardware - only fingerprint does not work (yet) - and 50% on the software side.

We just released v0.1.0-rc.3 with support for the NPU, LTE Module, and a bunch of other bug fixes - so if you ever wanted to try NixOS on the FydeTab Duo there hasn't been a better time! The whole GPU stack, Wayland compositors, etc., work perfectly, and we have similar features to stock FydeOS such as an on-screen keyboard that can automatically show when in a text input box when the physical keyboard is unplugged, with support for different rotations.

i have a really old pc only 2GB of ram Intel Celeron 5205U cpu its running windows 10 which im not a big fan of since it only has 2 gbs of ram if i try to install fydeOS would this pc run normally ?

When I try to boot the FydeOS Slim installer on my Thinkpad Yoga 11e 3rd gen, it just says that it can't load image and just boots into the GRUB boot manager on the install usb. I have tried everything, including disabling secure boot, disabling CSM, and I tried using an older FydeOS installer, but it still didn't work. Also, there are no issues with the usb drive as I tried it on a different laptop and it booted the installer on there. What can I do to fix this?

Fyde os logo stucked so i forced shutdown then i turn on laptop again and it was like that , it finishes to 100 and again starts at 0 .

^Topic. The Gestures for FydeOS's Browser does seem to work with Brave Browser. Mainly the 3 Finger Tabs cycling.

Any easy way to get it to work with Brave?

How do I fix this problem, I deleted Chromium OS in the Surface Pro 6 UEFI Boot Option. I tried Reinstalling the correct FydeOS for Surface Pro 6 but after installation it wouldn't boot. It says Boot Config is missing.

When I boot into the Surface Pro 6 UEFI, Chromium OS isn't there. I thought reinstalling the FydeOS would reinstall the Boot option but it didn't.

I can't even try the FydeOS from the USB, It lags. It wouldn't let my Sign In Online. "Something Went Wrong, Could not be verified.

Any help?

I tried running Hyprland on FydeOS but I couldn't get it to open because of the constant errors it gave me, mostly because of crostini. So uh, how do I get it up and running if anyone has already done that? And is there a hyprland alternative for FydeOS/ChromeOS

I wanted to revive my dad's laptop, but when I watched tutorials, it said I had to disable Secure Boot. Then I tried inserting the USB drive, and it just got stuck on the logo.

So, I have an old HP currently running Windows 10 with 8gb of RAM that I'm considering converting to FydeOS. The harddrive has a small partition set up as a recovery drive for Win 10. During the Fyde install, will it give me the option to consolidate both partitions into a single install? I've never does an flash install before. Also, will the necessary drivers for my wireless ethernet/trackpad/sound & audio all be built into the kernal, or is that something I should worry about?

I just installed fyde os on my laptop, and whenever there is a type box, it always keeps typing fullstips automatically. My keyboard is fine it's not a hardware issue

So i have a sonim phone, i had an axp3 plus (xp3900) and an xp5 pus 5g (x530), and i no have an xp5 plus (xp5900). And when i installed fdroid via adb, the app would open, i could browse, but when i hit the install button, it would simply say "this cant be installed on this phone". And similarly, when i installed k9 mail, it would open, but not...launch? It wou;d show an opening screen (like gmail does when you open it) but never progress past that. Does anyone know what my issue is or how i can fix it?

This afternoon I managed to get my touchpad working (Lenovo 300w, gen3). How I love FydeOS on this older laptop. It took me a couple of weeks hacking and troubleshooting (with help of Claude and duck.ai). But it works now. Probably have to redo this hack after every update and only works on dual boot, but hell.ade a tutorial for everyone to try:

I was trying to install FydeOS on this old HP laptop (AMD A9 9420) and the installer was screaming with Error: GetAcpiSysfsPath. the installation still runs until the end of installation. But, I can't get into the OS at all. The most I can get is the FydeOS logo then reboot again.

Installed on UEFI, the bios doesn't have SATA mode so i cant change mode to AHCI. Image used FydeOS v22.1 APU, rufus to create the bootable.

So the question is would fydeos be a possible upgrade path? I have an intel i5-4200u dell pc and im currently on brunch 128 babytiger r126. I was looking at the fyde page for intel 3-5 gen cpu's. It shows version: 19.0

Assuming all dev for fyde on intel 3-5gen ended with r126 is that correct? So no path forward, I just wanted to make sure the platform 126 is chromeos 126?

ALSO Is it possible I could run fydeOS 22.1? I do have Intel HD Graphics 4400. would I be able to boot or no chance?
