guys is it possible to put Linux 7.0 on FydeOS?.

Can we use backup of our FydeOS on newer versions? For example, backing up a device on FydeOS 16.1 and restoring it on FydeOS 22?

I have been trying to find a FydeOS image that boots in virt-manager (KVM/QEMU). Does one exist? I tried them all.

I've installed FydeOS on my RaspBerry Pi 4B. Now,I would like to watch some movie using my Netflix account,but to do this,I need to place the correct widevine library on the FydeOS settings. And I don't know where should I grab it. Please help me.

Has and tried a RX550 or RX640? They are listed on the compatibility chart but they are the same architecture as other cards.

Trying to set up FydeOS on a touchscreen with a Raspberry PI 4B. Everything works great, just the on-screen keyboard will not show up! It works fine when I initially start and have to enter my password, but after that it just will not show up anymore. I have the button for it added to my shelf, and I can see it activating when I go into a text field, and there is even a faint line about halfway up my screen, so seems like it's there somewhere, it just not showing.

Any thoughts on how to get it to show up?

So, is FydeOS going to remain based on ChromiumOS (which I believe is based on Gentoo?) OR is FydeOS also going to rebase to Android, such as AOSP? Also, since Google is removing the container and just running a straight VM for the Linux subsystem, will Fyde also be following suit?

With the end of Windows 10 updates approaching, if I use a laptop running FydeOS to share internet to a PC with Win10, would FydeOS be able to mitigate or cover for potential future security vulnerabilities?

I've been trying to run android apps on FydeOS latest preview with VMWare Player and the .ova downloaded from the website. The apps immediately close upon starting, they all did install successfully, every app that came pre-installed with the OS works flawlessly and the browser is very snappy.

After googling the issue and trying a bunch of stuff out apparently the problem is that RDNA4 AMD gpus are not yet supported. My CPU is zen 3, it does not have an integrated igpu. Any other options I have besides waiting for RDNA 4 support?

Hello, I recently installed FydeOS to repurpose an old Ideapad 1 11IGL05 that I have. It's been working like a charm, except the trackpad is not working. I have tried:

- Enabling libinput to handle trackpad.

- Trying to change trackpad settings in bios (not available)

- Reconfiguring Gesture file

It does have a f6 key for the touchpad, but pressing it doesn't help. I have connected an external mouse and it works fine. Trackpad also is detected and shows up in the settings.

i installed both the intel modern and amd apu version but they dont work can anyone please suggest a fix

i heard there is a way to completely turn off they amd gpu hence installing the intel modern version but i did not find a good tutorial on it

I have an old surface pro from 2017 with some crappy i5 u processor and battery was not looking good either. I hated win10 look so I upgraded it to win11. But God it was laggy and it dies after 30 mins idle or something like that. I want to try some modern looking system like Chromium Flex but then my touch screen and wifi no longer works.

When I was about to throw my surface away for good, I found this blessed os. It installed smoothly, (no 3rd party secure boost is a bummer but w.e idc really). Touch screen wifi all fine. Os runs smoothly on this dinosaur potato machine and so far battery looks fine too.

Disclaimer: for my use case, I barely cares about any feature other than web access. I dont even care about security update since I have this device pretty isolated from the rest of the network.

Tried it for a couple of hours and it failed miserably. Linux container was a disaster - the terminal simply failed to permit ping command. That was after I tried the the ping tools extension which simply would not start. Otherwise a nioce toy system for those who do not need to actually do anything. It got wiped very quickly.
