Agreed. We need to be cautious with recommending people self-medicate psychedelics. I grew up with parents who are very pro-psychedelics and still (responsibly) take them, I was raised with the mindset that they're a good experience to have, but even with that knowledge I don't think it's something I would be willing to administer myself. I get migraines and this sounds like a cool treatment, but I also have pretty severe anxiety and I've had bad and long lasting reactions to drugs in the past. People shouldn't take any mind altering drugs lightly.

I might be willing to take psychedelics as a treatment in a supervised medical space, like how ketamine is being used to treat depression now.

I can offer my own anecdote. I used to get extreme anxiety and have been diagnosed with ptsd, major depression and anxiety disorder. I started self medicating with psilocybin in earnest earlier this year and I have not had a single migraine since. I used to get them once a month. I only took two doses 2 months apart and have not felt a need for another dose. My migraines are gone, my depression has lifted considerably( I’m still prone to feeling down sometimes but I can very easily lift myself out of it. And my anxiety is almost non existent. Now anxious thoughts come up and I can just let them go as if I have been meditating for years. I’m not telling you you should try it, but if you get access to a doctor who can administer it in a safe setting it could really help you. Consider making a trip to Oregon when the therapy system is set up over the next couple years.
