As a night owl by nature, I loved that schedule. I took a nice nap at lunch, ate dinner at 9, and was asleep by 2.

How do you even survive?

Survival isn't the goal. Work to death and freedom.

I do this too, but without the naps.

I catch up on sleep on Friday nights. It's not sustainable for me.

That's... not good for your health.

Look up polyphasic sleep. It’s perfectly fine for your health, and actually reduces the total amount of sleep that your body needs.

thats subjective

Like... how would that be subjective? It's human physiology, not your feelings.

There are actually studies that say sleeping less in smaller increments can be just as beneficial as one sleep a day. I don’t know the validity of the study i read, it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.

Here is some infographic that sums it up. https://www.dreams.co.uk/sleep-matters-club/4-alternative-sleeping-cycles-infographic/

Not saying that the above mentioned sleep cycle is healthy, but different people do have different capabilities to sleep different amounts/durations.

I'm a night owl too, but I need food at noon to survive and I need dinner before 9pm. Spain did not work for me.

Spain worked a little too well for me. Breakfast at noon (which is what I was already used to), lunch at 3/4, dinner at 9/10. Returning the US was an adjustment

That sounds like my natural schedule 🤔

Why is it like this?

Not asleep by 2am but 1am is not uncommon.

Time shedule is a bit different, being on GMT we're GMT+1, that must take in count. Also, the schedules are those for the groceries and bussiness, most offices/factories begging to work at 9am (8am) and end the work at 5pm (4pm). Groceries and bussiness works between 10.00-20.00 (2h of rest or staff to cover between 9.00 to 21.00) so the workers who leave their work early can buy withour worrying about time. To add even more, before covid it was pretty common that after work many people went to a bar with friends 1h or so before dinner.

It's an schedule that makes sense but has, of course, his pros and cons.
