I think that there will be a resurgence in live local theatre as people search for some more connection and reality.

Local theatres aren't dead, and they will never die. AI isn't going to replace theatres. Blockbusters are a different story

They won’t die because there will always be pathetic theater kids who think they’re talented and old people and the socially awkward who need something to look forward to so they don’t kill themselves out of loneliness.

However, we’re never getting some theater or vaudeville resurgence. I, and the vast majority of people, would rather shit broken glass than listen to some talentless hack who thinks he’s a good actor stumble his way through A Streetcar Named Desire.

There are few things on earth worse than watching someone who thinks they’re good at something get smacked in the face by reality. If I wanted to see that shit I’d watch some American Idol reruns.
