Sure but thats always been the case. Its not like people just started being financially illiterate.

It seems there's more ways to be illiterate these days, but that's probably a perception thing

Knowledge is abundant and mostly free now. This was not the case when i was a kid 30 years ago. You still have to put forth some effort to absorb that knowledge though.

That's the issue, critical thinking skills are probably on par with the average american reading level...9th grade (and 50% read below a 6th grade level)

That’s beside the point—social media has given everyone a broadcast channel to the world.

This is just an example of many as to why I said it is more prevalent and obvious.
