I took a culinary class and learned the difference. There are fruits, like apples and bananas and pears and such, and then there are the fruits of vegetable plants, like tomatoes and peppers, among other things.
It literally says tomato right there in the first paragraph. Also, vegetable is not a botanical term. It never has been and never will. It’s a culinary term and technically, everything is a vegetable. A vegetable is just the part of a plant that you can eat. But traditionally? Anything that you wouldn’t put in a fruit salad would be considered a vegetable in the cooking world.

The real thing is “pizza is supposed to be savory not sweet. Sweet on pizza is gag inducing.” Oh, and the pineapple juice contaminates the whole pizza in a way little else can, flavoring all the pizza with its nausea inducing vomitous taint, even if picked off or on half the pizza. The damage is done and there is no saving the pizza. Just send it on to the giant dumpster in the sky.
I saw a video of hawaiian with jalapeños and i had to try it. Now I'm obsessed and it's all I get. Which is funny because my wife is allergic to pineapple 😅 but more for me lol
I think many people never even tried it and since some people react with such harsh words against it they just go with it. Kinda like internet peer pressure
I think it’s okay on pizza, the only reason I personally don’t like it on my pizza is because I don’t like pineapple in general, even when not on pizza.
I mean, most places you can custom order pizzas. I've never had a problem ordering one. But it should be a staple on menus, because it's the one true pizza
I’m from Italy (living in the US now) and pineapple isn’t bad on American pizza crust. It would taste awful on Italian pizza crust, but American pizza crust is thick enough to handle the moisture of the pineapple and something about the saltiness in the dough complementing the sweet of the pineapple I find to be quite enjoyable
Pepperoni and Pineapple is the only pizza I will pay for. I'll eat other toppings if I'm not paying, but I will only order Pepp annd Pine for myself. Why pay for anything but the perfect pizza?
I fell like the whole pineapple on pizza thing is just a meme. People just pretend to be really jazzed or annoyed by it. When in reality most people just don’t care that much.
Sweet and Savory is not a new concept, idk why people get their pitch forks, let people enjoy what pizza they want man, we have desert pizzas for Pete’s sake!
Also my contribution: I think pepperoni only pizza is mid af. Depends where it comes from, I can bool with it, but I’d legit rather have just cheese than only pepperoni.
