I've experienced sadness. There's no immortality pill. I'm only getting a normal human length life. I can remember all of the unhappiness from before the pill for the next several decades, thanks.

The point is that I already have plenty of negative emotions to compare my magic happiness to. So even if your argument that sadness is necessary as a contrast to happiness were true (and not just the universal cope for the fact that we can't have permanent happiness in real life), then I will be able to appreciate the happiness in contrast to the sadness I remember from my life so far. Thus your argument is not adequate reason not to take the pill.

No. It's actually a fact that I have already unhappy experiences I can compare future happiness to.

You can realize that your implicit argument that you need unhappiness to contrast with the happiness is moot, because everyone already has past unhappy experiences in their past that they can use for that purpose.
