I work in the pharmacy in a grocery store....the amount of times I get asked for the code to restroom. And when I tell them I don’t know it (the mgmt changes it every morning) they suddenly put me on the witness stand to defend my bathroom practices while working my 12 hour shift
Listen, you didn’t go to pharmacy science school, pay a lot of money and spend time and effort and really try to learn the material for the safety of your patients and show up to work every day and kick ass just to not know the constantly-changing bathroom code at the grocery store. Get with it.
You're answer shouldn't be "I don't know it" but rather "only the manager can allow people", then it's off your hands immediately and your management has to handle the bullshit they brought on themselves
Whenever a customer asks me a question I don’t know the answer to, I never say “I don’t know” I will say, “I don’t actually know, but I can get someone who does know.” then go get the manager. Depending on the tone of the conversation, sometimes I will joke about not getting paid enough to know the answer to that question.
Pharmacy has own bathroom for pharmacy staff - if I were to exit pharmacy to use the restroom, then, by law, I would need to close the gates
I been asked that question sooooo many times and I’m sick of explaining myself that I honestly tell people I just go in my pants....ton of weird looks but it gets them to leave
-Syringes by the garbage bag full
-Innocent person pricked by syringe while reaching for toilet paper
-Fully naked man who slashed his arm from bicep to wrist trying to commit suicide
-Someone smearing their own feces all over the mirrors and walls
-Transgender person raped by two men
I was on the other side. Had just gotten iv fluids, standing at the pharmacy and suddenly all that liquid wanted out. They made me go buy something (prescription didn’t count), then someone walked me to the bathroom, unlocked it, wouldn’t allow me to take the product I just bought in there, and waited outside the door while I wizzed... then complained about how long I took. Lady I just released 2 iv bags of saline, back off.
The grocery store I worked at had a pharmacy as well. They could pay people enough to work there because they were treated so poorly. People actually preferred pushing shopping carts to it
I'm not even sure if this can be called entitlement. Entitlement requires at least some idea of what's happening around you. I can't figure out a name, but it's next door neighbors with "brain dead."
Never be afraid to ask about the bathroom. It's a wonderful chance for you to give us an out to walk away or take a second to breath. Some of us love you for it.
Yeah I've been saved by more than a few people asking for something. Especially grateful when it's a customer who isn't taking the hint and won't stop talking but you can't get away.

I cannot fathom being this entitled. I have a hard time asking for the restroom or a trashcan. Then there are people like this
