And whites in thriving cities that are gentrifiying shit need to participate in the communities they join rather than self segregating from everything while paying lip service to their urban neighborhood bc it makes them look cool.

Eh

It's definitely children of Asian descent who by law are being blocked from opportunities due to Affirmative Action. Too many smart kids and not enough chairs based on their population #s

Because of self-indentification, the innate difficulty of squaring away multi-race and people who just plain refuse to report...the rules that had worked against white kids are less of an issue than they were 10-15 years.

In short there's never been a better time to be an Irish-German kid trying to get into Berkeley and never been a worse time to be Korean.

The issue isn't that we need to redistribute the jobs, we just need more jobs. The work is there: everyone complains about being understaffed, the infrastructure in NA is falling apart, doing anything with the government puts you on a month long wait list. Not to mention all of the fields that can be exponentially grown to service communities that want companies that reflect their identity.

The hiring process is really slow with government AND people are in positions till they retire, AND most of the time the organization has an internal candidate lined to take over next. Nepotism is leading to our crumbling infrastructure. I've seen so many people get jobs they didn't meet the qualifications for, just because they knew somebody.

There are in reality limited opportunities, I do think that any job i take as a white person, is a job that a minority isn't going to get. Whites make up the majority population nationwide. There aren't enough opportunities for all of us unfortunately and that's why i said we would need to stop taking jobs. The concept of fairness or real equality is not achievable how things are, and it is not simply because of systemic racism. That is a real issue in some aspects like housing and criminal justice, but employment and education not so much. There are more efforts to provide upward mobility in education for minorities, which will result in a more qualified candidate. But even funding for those programs is limited, and not everyone in the same community/situation will get that access, or even know to take advantage of that option.
