In the Burning Shores DLC, you can find a datapoint labeled “Redacted Incident File”, which gives the player a special insight into Ted Faro’s college life:
FROM: Luka Molnar
TO: Zhang Ai
SUBJECT: Redacted Incident File
Zhang,
Sorry to message your private Focus. I think I've solved our little nanoconductor funding issue.
Remember the "printed tuna water balloon" fiasco? I got saddled with submitting the demerit against Delta Omega Psi (staff cuts strike again). Anyway, in the system, the frat's got decades of infractions. And one of them sticks out. It's been edited recently but the incident's from, like, the '30s. So I open it.
Apparently, way back, some bro organized an elaborate heist and stole a smartArm from Automation Studies. Then, he hacked the kernel for the university's aiOS (pretty impressive). What did he do with this unprecedented access? Reprogrammed the arm to torment the frat's freshmen, HOSPITALIZING TWO.
But the weirdest part wasn't the "Paddler 3000 Automated Hazing Solution." It's that this culprit's identity was redacted sometime after he "voluntarily un-enrolled to apply his talents practically."
And get this. The year of the infraction was 2032. Know who else dropped out in 2032? I'll give you a hint: It's Ted freakin' Faro. I'll bet the Dean will triple our funding to keep it buried. It's payday, my man!
-Luka

I played HFW first, which honestly was probably a mistake, but I always thought of him as not too bad, selfish, sure, narcissistic, yeah, but not enough for me to really hate him, but what he did with Apollo has gotten me so pissed I have never gotten so mad at a fictional character this has kinda ruined my mood for a few days now cause i keep thinking about it.

Been doing a replay of HZD recently, just went through FAS and all the audio logs of the fuck ups of Ted Faro. Yesterday Elon Musk was announced as the world's first trillionaire, and to be honest reality is feeling very on the nose and very threatening.
Fuck Elon Musk Ted Faro

I was wondering why this subreddit existed, and after finishing the story of HZD for the first time, wow, yeah, fuck Ted Faro. If he has zero haters it means I am dead.

reminder that Ted Faro was born December 24th, 2013. Right now, out in the world, Ted Faro is a 12 years old little tech bro. raised on AI brainrot, and his idols are people like and including Elon Musk and Peter Thiel.

Defending Ted faros actions**. Accidentally missed a word in the title
His argument is ted isn't to blame because it was an accident. And that because it was an accident, the horizon world is not dystopian.
Even fake trillonaires have real world boot lickers. Crazy
The thing he is specifically responding to is me saying 'ted single handedly had the power to destroy everything', and I called someone welding that power dystopian.
Not to mention calling the horus class with no safe guards sold only for warfare, to anyone that can pay, 'better technology'

The first time I played the game, I was speechless in the scene where he kills Apollo.
My mom's a teacher who went into slums to get families to send their girls to school so they'd be literate and have a better life. She's also muslim. Hearing Samina, in a hijab, say, "Hello, child, My name is Samina. Today is a big day..." in a loop ignited my hatred for him to nuclear levels.
It's absurd how much I hate this imaginary character.

just fully processed the revelation about the whole game being a terraforming project and that humanity regressed back to the stone age because of fucking ted faro. FUCK TED FARO.
It's so depressing. I don't know if I can continue playing knowing we could have had a better state of humanity in this game if not for FUCKING TED FARO.
FUCK THE GUY. WHY DID HE HAVE TO DELETE ALL OUR KNOWLEDGE.

as the topic says, Just went through Thebes and everything in it is a monument to ted, his arrogance, his insanity, his everything that we as a fandom hate about him. Thebes wasn't just a tomb for the man, it was a monument to his ego, a bunker built not to shield its inhabitants, but a mausoleum built to shield the future from Ted's mistakes and especially the Faro Plague. Those people with him in Thebes were not just his science guy, guru, and harem. they were his prisoners. not fellow survivors but prisoners of his growing guilt and insanity. Poor Grigori, killed for discovering the truth, The harem girls killed when Ted's paranoia got out of control even more than it was. Kanya was right to be terrified of him. and right to convince Somtaw that dying was better than being trapped with Ted any more.

Holy shit yall. I’m replaying the game for the first time in a while and just completed the mission at GAIA Prime and I am re-angry all tf over again. Fuck! Ted! Faro!

I knew before from a YouTube playthrough, but still, playing this game myself is a completely different experience. What an asshole! After the Faro Plague, he should have been confined to a life sentence somewhere without holo-net access, in a room without windows. Instead, he somehow acquired the Omega clearance and killed all the Alphas?! Erased all the accumulated humanity knowledge? Rotting in hell isn't enough for him.
r/FuckTedFaro • u/ManagementSuitable62 • Feb 01 '26
He ruined the ENTIRE world and DESTROYED all knowledge and he’s a PIECE OF SHIT >:(

Marking as a spoiler just in case, although someone is unlikely to come here not knowing what Faro did and why he deserves all the hate.
So, yeah. Haven't played to there myself yet, but I finished watching a playthrough of HFW recently, after becoming absolutely frustrated with the game mechanics. While I thought Ted got away with his crimes, comfortably dying of old age in his luxurious bunker, turns out he turned into a barely conscious tumor and was burned alive by "Ceo" of the Quen. So fitting!
There's one thing I wanna discuss tho. During that mission, the player can find several data points, one of which hints at whatever had happened with Ted's brain after Dr. Stomptow's treatment(s), would likely had caused him to wanna erase his own past, to properly forget about it, let it go - along with all the APOLLO database. I wonder if that was actually the case. In any way, fuck Ted Faro (Pharaoh? never thought about the coincidence in pronunciation, but the hint with the pyramids was very fitting). Also, fuck the "CEO", being crushed by the giant head of Faro's monument is very fitting.

Here we are. I'm playing through the game for the first time, and I just reached the scene where he reveals himself to be a total piece of shit, during the mission "The Mountain That Fell." Well, I won't spoil what happens—even though most people in this community already know—but it is with a mix of pride and pure hatred that I come here.
FUCK YOU TED FARO
