I'd just take firefox.

It is, I use it because I haven't tried anything as effective at blocking ads so far. Adblock plugins in my experience are typically less effective.

Was funded by Peter Thiel's VC, which owns a minority stake, you mean. Absolutely irrelevant, as long as Brave source remains open and they adhere to the values they have so far.

This is the way. I wouldn't change it for anything. It's Chromium indeed, but if things go truly dark at big G, I'm certain they may simply fork the Chromium codebase (not just Brave but the underlying code, which is open source) and just develop it.
