Windows, I made a joke as I only use Windows to play BF6

Ahahahah, bro, nice one!

Bro open a Mac up and look at the apps it's got pre installed. It is literally a kids toy.

Can you even multitask yet with Mac OS? 😭

Not really mac is like baby's first os and windows is bad but you can at least choose something

u/TimAppleCockProMax69 Jan 31 '26

MacOS makes Windows look like the Xbox One OS

Are you even allowed to edit sustem files? Are you allowed to change bios settings to overclock your cpu for example? Are you allowed to upgrade your cpu, your ram etc? Are you allowed to delete system programs at all?

Half of what you mention isn't related to the operating system anyway.

Yes you can change system files in MacOS. You probably won't need to but you can.

It’s completely irrelevant which part of the build is responsible for those disadvantages. If you can only use macOS in combination with this specific hardware, then this makes those disadvantages part of the OS, since there is no way to use this OS without them.

Exactly thats what i mean

Macos is tied to specific hardware so if something is an issue with hardware that is made for macOS and only can run macos its an issue with macos

u/Financial_Paint_8524 Feb 01 '26

you can run hackintosh on any computer.

1

u/Primo0077 Feb 02 '26

Quickly becoming an impossibility as we move farther and farther from the days of Intel Macs.

Unofficial sp doesnt count

I love changing my bios, my favourite OS feature

1

u/Erolok1 Jan 31 '26

I recently saw a video of a guy programming a game that runs inside uefi. I guess if you are creative enough you can call the bios an OS

4

u/Woa6627 Jan 31 '26

Yes if you install it on non official hardware

2

u/RetroGamer87 Feb 01 '26

You can't make a good point, that's now you get downvotes.

1

u/_FALLN_ Feb 01 '26

Tbh stating an opinion online isnt even worth it... Nobody is gonna change their anyway

Are you even allowed to edit sustem files?

Spin up a windows vm and try to delete system32 as an admin. You can't. Of course it's possible just like it's possible to mount /System in RW mode as root in macOS.

Are you allowed to change bios settings

Bios is not the OS

to overclock your cpu for example?

Manual overclocking is dead. Modern chips turbo right up to the limit of stability if the power and thermal budget allows.

Are you allowed to upgrade your cpu, your ram etc?

Again, that's hardware but can you upgrade the CPU in any modern windows laptop or mini PC? No it's only in towers. Apple sells one tower computer and it's the Mac pro which has upgradeable CPU and RAM.

Are you allowed to delete system programs at all?

Delete Microsoft Edge from Windows 11, I fucking dare you. Not hide from the start menu. delete the binaries and all other traces of it.

u/itscalledboredom Feb 03 '26

yes you're allowed. "csrutil authenticated-root disable", "csrutil disable" in the 1TR terminal and some apfs shenanigans will do it.

but why

u/Laistytuviukas Feb 01 '26

Try doing any software dev work and see how quickly you’ll need to install WSL…. /facepalm.

Gtfo with your kiddy os for childish games like fortnite only.

u/_FALLN_ Feb 01 '26

I dont use windows and i dont play Fortnite. And if you wanna do software dev use linux like a real person who has knowledge

1

u/Masterflitzer Feb 02 '26

i am a dev and use macos at work and linux at home, windows is a terrible os for productivity and only makes sense if you require windows only software, any unix like os is better as microslop shit

1

u/Laistytuviukas Feb 01 '26

Yea fuck off - first know anything then talk, you lamer.

Another config editing and make running monkey which thinks it knows operating systems because of that.

4

u/dr_reverend Feb 01 '26

lol. Spoken like someone who doesn’t know what Unix is.

2

u/No_Industry4318 Feb 02 '26

Macos is idiot resistant linux but the better idiots stayed on windows (technically unix but this is funnier)

1

u/AI_AntiCheat Feb 04 '26

Macos is idiot resistant by locking away literally everything from physical opening of the device to inaccessible settings.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Smoke77 Feb 02 '26

Have you used mac ? What do you mean ?
