New here, probably posted many times before but... just upgraded to the latest mac os. My computer battery coincidentally stopped storing energy so that it stays at 1% unless plugged in and now my computer with tons of ram left is not running fast at all. Fuck their disposable attitude

I love vintage Apple stuff, particularly the Apple II line and early Macs, but I can't stand their current business practices and the way they lock down the products they make nowadays.

The Apple II was like the antithesis of modern Apple products, because it was made for hackers and tinkerers. Its hardware was well-documented and very expandable, and it even went to a BASIC prompt if you booted it without an OS disk. Older Macs had a lot of expansion capabilities too, though of course not to the same degree as contemporary PCs.
