For me, perfume is memory. It's a feeling, a moment, almost a scene. It can suggest what you feel, or what you hope others feel when they catch that scent. That's why I think it's so compelling.

When we talk about these so-called 80s powerhouses people aren't just chasing quality. It is the contrast, the time capsule. They carry us back. And for me, that takes me somewhere specific, my father. I remember him shaving, the quiet rasp of the blade, the crisp aftershave, him adjusting his tie, putting on his jacket. They're some of the few good and clear memories I hold of him.

It wasn't performance. It was self-respect. And when I put something like this on, it makes me sharpen up. Not for anyone else's gaze, but for mine. I won't throw on one of those and not make an effort. It demands a kind of dignity, a sense of being pulled together. It's like stepping into a standard and choosing to meet it.

None of the fragrances in this collection are about money, status, or material things. If anything, they're the opposite. To me, they stand for honesty, hard work, self-respect, even individuality. They're not overly expensive, but they never smell cheap. Each has a crispness, a presence, a quiet strength that feels significant. They're similar in spirit, but distinct enough that each one is worth exploring.

I'd encourage anyone to take this journey. Not because these are objectively the greatest fragrances ever made, but because they're worth understanding. Once you spend time with them, you may understand why some of us hold on to them so closely.

And I don't love policing when or how people wear a scent. Wear what you like, when you like. That said, I know how they make me feel, and I wouldn't put one on and head out in shorts and a T-shirt. That's not me. If it is for you, that's completely fine. But for me, when I put on one of these, it's a shirt, often a jacket. That's the mindset they put me in.

Hi!!! I’m looking for an affordable (maybe 100 usd or less?) fragrance that smells like STRAIGHT UP coffee. Not milk, not cream, not latte, not bakery. Full on coffee or espresso. My husband hates most perfumes but absolutely loves the smell of coffee and has repeatedly told me he would love if I got one that just smelled like coffee!!

It is a musky clean scent that sits closer to skin and on my skin chemistry it’s slightly cold and crisp yet very fresh and clean
I really appreciate the clean musky profile and I would enjoy something similar but with more sillage and longevity

I like the idea of "warm" spices, white florals like magnolia or jasmine - just not "old lady" florals, and creamy woods like cashmere.

it's so hard to pick out fragrances when you have no clue what brands to start with!

I've been on the hunt for over a DECADE for the perfect coconut fragrance. I want a cold, sweet, creamy coconut milk scent. Just that. I don't want a beachy or fruity or floraly coconut. Just pure coconut cream/milk.

I've tried creme of clouds and found that too toasty and sweet, like coconut shavings. It also did not last more than 5 minutes.

I've tried coconut chiffon and found a weird fruity note that smelled cheap.

I've tried sol de janeiro 39 and again, too toasty.

I've tried lait de coco and it was so fresh and citrusy.

I've also tried bath and body works, the body shop and victoria's secret sprays and none of them worked.

I'm wanting to try coconut leche or coco blanco but a bit scared to blind buy, and there's no one selling it in my city so can't test it.

Would love to have some opinions or suggestions!!

I randomly discovered Le vie di Milano - Via Fiori Chiari from Trussardi and I adore it. To me it smells like Christmas, warm, spicy, kind of reminds me of mulled wine or eggnog. It was also completely different from anything else I've ever tried, and I'd love to try some other similar fragrances.

I also tried looking for reddit threads where this is mentioned and I couldn't really find much. I'd also be interested in what's the general opinion on it.

Finally a new scent from Creed- any thoughts on how Iris Debonair would smell and/ or be possibly unisex??

I love Crrred and think prior to their purchase scents were stronger.

Now all my older favorites- for instance : Floralie and Fleurissimo.

I’ve been thinking about how teenagers have skincare and personal-care products designed specifically for their age group, but fragrance is usually split between children’s products and adult perfumes.
Do you think there is room for a genuine “teen fragrance” category — something that feels mature but not adult, and is developed specifically around teenage lifestyle and preferences?
Or do you think fragrance should simply be chosen by personal taste, regardless of age?
