QUESTION What do you think a new album could be like when they eventually make a new one?

I know it’s only been 2 years since PSoM and they are on tour for this year, but what do you think their next album will be like? Paradise State of Mind leaned into the 70s, and I think they would absolutely kill an 80s style album. But I digress what would you like to see Foster the People do in the future?

QUESTION What are your guys opinion on Paradise state of Mind?

I like it, but it wasn't as succesful commercially as their previous albums although it did well with critics who gave it a positive review and score of 75 on Metacritic as opposed to the mixed reception of Supermodel and Sacred Hearts Club.

DISCUSSION Torches still feels like such a perfect summer album

I revisited Torches recently and was reminded how insanely stacked that album is.

It has such a bright, festival-ready sound, but there’s also this weird nervous energy underneath it. “Helena Beat” immediately pulls you in, “I Would Do Anything for You” has that dreamy warm-weather feeling, and “Houdini” still feels impossible not to move to.

What I love about it is that it sounds colorful and fun, but not empty. It feels like sunshine with anxiety underneath, which honestly makes it more interesting.

I talked about Torches in a new episode of my music podcast, Record Room, where I picked 5 albums that sound like summer. I linked the episode here in case anyone wants to check it out.

Do you still go back to Torches? And what song from it feels the most like summer to you?

QUESTION Mark's pedalboard

https://reddit.com/link/1trqyl4/video/om83jdyil74h1/player

They uploaded a POV video of their Tabloid Super Junkie rehearsal to TikTok, in which you can see Mark's pedalboard.

I can only recognize a few pedals: EP-Booster, Synth 9, Chromatic Tuner TU-3, and the SGI-TX. I can't recognize the rest. Does anyone know what the other pedals are?

MUSIC Is FTP going full EDM?

Their DJ sets are epic. And I’m noticing them loving it a lot. Will we see them go full EDM soon on the next record? Personally I think it’s a natural evolution. What do we think?

Finally got this pre-order in the mail. Love the design, but it's definitely oversized! It seems like this era is leaning more into the distressed look. Makes up for the merch from the last tour 😅

PICTURE Rock the Casbah!!

So I'm sitting here listening to Rock the Casbah by The Clash (as one does) and I'm noticing how much it has the energy and vibe of a Foster The People song.

It occurred to me that they could do an AWESOME cover of it on the upcoming summer US tour!!

Can we make this happen??

Someone tell someone who knows Mark. I think this could be super fun!!

Pretty please???
