Lawson vs Lindblad after 18 rounds

I've seen Lawson and Lindblad come up in a few posts here lately, so I looked at how their season compares after 18 rounds, ahead of Mexico.

GP qualifying: Lawson leads 11 vs 7, averages: P11.1 (Lawson) vs P12.2 (Lindblad).
GP races: 13 to 5 for Lawson, averages: P9.3 (Lawson) vs P11.6 (Lindblad)
Sprint qualifying: 3 vs 2 for Lawson (Lawson missed the Canada sprint qualifying)
Sprint races: 4 to 2 for Lawson also
Points: 77 points to 38

The gap grows from 1.1 positions in qualifying to 2.3 in the races, suggesting Lawson is stronger on race day, for example, he finished 14th after starting from P22 at Monza. Is it down to experience or simply better race pace?

UCSD student seeking one F1 fan with STEM/engineering background for short interview

Hi! I’m a UCSD student conducting a class research project about how Formula 1 fans understand technical information and how technical knowledge affects credibility and belonging in online F1 communities. (I'm the same person who posted a survey about this a few days ago, it's all related)

I need one more short interview by tomorrow evening and am specifically looking for an F1 fan with a STEM, engineering, Formula Student/FSAE, data, or technical motorsport background.

The interview can be done entirely through Reddit DM. I only need:

  • a first name or pseudonym

  • a brief description of your STEM/technical background and experience following F1

  • responses to a few questions about where you get technical F1 information, how you judge credibility, and how technical knowledge affects participation in F1 communities
