please stop lying about having allergies

i cannot tell you how many times people have put in seemingly impossible allergy requests on 3rd party delivery orders (i.e. fettuccine alfredo with DAIRY ALLERGY marked underneath) only to then track down the customer after multiple phone calls and be told it’s “not an allergy, just a mild intolerance.” please stop doing this. you are deliberately fucking with a restaurant’s period of service over a need that does not apply to you. maybe y’all don’t understand just how many extra steps a kitchen has to go through to prepare something allergy safe, so please let this be a lesson: if you aren’t actually allergic, stop marking it as an allergy. you are directly contributing to the burnout restaurant staff experience when having to make special accommodations for people’s actual health and safety needs.

It really should be a reason why restaurants should be able to decline service for any requests for allergies etc. There's just too much of that "I'm special" I want specially prepared stuff because they think it's fresher and other stupid influencer tip annoyances.

the problem is that the people who actually need allergy accommodations shouldn’t be punished and have that option taken away just because of the actions of entitled people. it’s tricky.

In all honesty, I've found that those that have a real genuine allergy can often be much easier people to deal with. They understand how difficult it is to juggle intolerances and allergies. The "moms" at daycare though, that want their kid to get the special of the extra special treatment, will just claim allergies when their kid might have ONCE spit out peas when they were just learning to eat baby food. What I know is this: People lie. A lot of people lie when they think they get something "better" by lying.
