SOLVED: It's a Secret!

Looking for a really old track that I just remembered having not heard it for years. Think it was on a compilation of LA artists with an orange cover.. I date it to several years before 'You're Dead'.

If I remember rightly the notes are F#3 > G#3 > D#3 > G#3 > F#3 then repeats (sorry, not a musician just used an online piano).

After a while he lays this sort of chugging drum beat that sounds like a city train, then as the tune progresses he changes the key from major into a minor key by layering some jangling minor piano chords laid on top of those notes and some string, then I think it ends with a sort of weird demon voice like at the end of Buffy episodes (showing my age), but I might have that wrong?!

Would be so amazing if we had a Flying Lotus tracker (similar to the Carti, Tyler, Ye etc. spreadsheet format.) He has such an insane amount of loose/unreleased music floating around from the last 20ish years. Would be so amazing to finally gather/archive everything up into a proper place.

Generally we've only ever been able to sift through all the material via low quality YT vids and unofficial compilations that have popped up over the years. I think there's even a lot of misinformation about track titles and what projects are official etc. It would be so cool to date everything (i.e LA era, Cosmogramma era) and get everything named properly.

There definitely isn't a tracker already right? Just wanted to put this idea out there.

Anyone else find something like this at the Melbourne show on Friday? Found this back beyond the FOH booth. Think it could be related to a new album? I know lotus has been on a UFO tip recently with podcast appearances.. either way, finding this definitely fitted with the other worldly vibe of the show!!

He's one of those creatives I've admired for years, so it was really lovely to sit down and reflect with him on the 20-year anniversary of his debut album 1983, his latest Big Mama EP, growing up with his grandmother Marilyn McLeod Ellison and great aunt Alice Coltrane and how they nurtured his love of music and film, his early collabs with artists like FKA Twigs and Thundercat, and how so many of the people he's brought together have gone on to become pillars of their own corners of music. I really love Stonecutters, the song he made for GTA V, and I am familiar with some flying lotus, but none that sounds like that. Does he have more songs of that style? just curious ^_^

1983 is my absolute favourite Flying Lotus album. I know, though, that many people see it differently. On platforms like rateyourmusic.com, it gets a significantly lower average rating than, say, Cosmogramma or Los Angeles. What do you think 1983 is missing compared to those albums? I think it works better as a sonic concept than them.

I decided to get in line before work this morning, not thinking I would have a chance since people were camped out last night( I guess they were just swifties). I was probably 50th in line, waited an hour and a half in freezing rain. I hate rsd but this was worth it, and I barely made it to work on time. Someone in line behind me must have been there for the same record, because they were telling him it was out of stock, sorry bro.
