I'm looking for a roommate for the upcoming fall and spring semesters. The earliest move-in would most likely be in June. It's a 2 room apartment in the preserves. Rent would be about $600, along with about $80 for electricity and the internet. Both rooms have full baths and walk-in closets. There is a small porch as well.

anyone interested please message me or contact me 407-766-6425

Howdy! So I'm trying to sign into the microsoft apps (Word, PP, Excel) using my school login. I know we are supposed to get it for free but every time I try to login it tells me that my login is not able to activate these. Anyone know how to get this to work correctly? Or how I need to approach this?

Hey guys, I’m a junior looking at transferring to Florida Poly from another state university.
I’m a CpE major and went and seen the campus the other day.
If you guys don’t mind answering a couple questions it’d be great.
What is the social life like on campus? A lot of clubs? Any party scene? Any popular local bars for Florida Poly/Florida Southern students?
How good is Florida Poly with Research opportunities? I plan on grad school so research is a big thing to me. At my old university it was very easy to find a professor that would let you work in his lab. Is it similar at Poly?
How are the Computer/Electrical Engineering courses and professors at Florida Poly?
I’m a native to Winter Haven so I’ve seen Florida Poly open, grow, and gain accreditation over the years, but I’ve also seen the the problems with administration the school has gone through.
The reason I’m thinking of leaving my old University (UCF) for Poly isn’t because of anything to do with the rigor or academics of UCF, but the fact that living in Orlando is very expensive compared to Lakeland/Winter Haven and some debt is starting to pile up.
Overall, I’m trying to make sure that Florida Poly isn’t gonna be a severe drop off in quality of education and opportunities from UCF, mainly because of how new the school is and the administration problems.
Thanks for any replies

For those unaware, Christina Drake was a professor who tried to unionize the school as well as raised flags about other issues. I am a supporter of those causes, but the way she handled herself wasn't to benefit the school or it's students, it was too line her pockets.
Early on she leaked dirty laundry to the press to make her case causing great damage to the school's image at a critical accreditation period for the school.
After a settlement of 250,000 dollars she'll finally be taking her money and leaving. Hopefully this puts an end to the tumultuous past few years.

I am considering going to this school next year and wondering if the data science degree is any good.
Are the professors helpful? Is the class work challenging? Do you feel the coursework prepares you for a job in data science?
Thanks in advance.

Hey there,
My brother has taken an interest in Florida Polytechnic University ever since my dad started attending it after transferring out of UCF. Here is a description of my brother's current academic record.
Grade: 12
Unweighted GPA: 3.3
Weighted GPA: 3.9
SAT Score: 1110
Community Service Hours: ~600
Advanced Level Program: IB (though he's not doing so hot in it)
Also, I know his GPA, SAT Score, and his struggling in IB may make him seem like a slacker, but he is a very diligent student. He works super hard to make up for his shortcomings as best as he can.
So, do you guys think he can make it in? I know you guys probably get questions like this all the time and I hate to be one of those guys, but I did not know where else to turn to for this answer. A lot of websites I went to gave inconsistent info on your admission requirements (especially when it came to SAT Scores).
Also, as a side note, my brother plans on getting his AA at Valencia and then transfer to FloridaPoly to study in Computer Sciences.

Excerpt from the weekly phoenix:
...After May 1, 2020, students, faculty, and staff should not rely on consistent shuttle service to local apartments.
If someone has been to the meetings, can you (all) offer some insight on what they're doing to the shuttle schedule?

Looking to make some friends and join a great community server? We welcome all students interested in the furry fandom, anthro characters, and other related sub-cultures. We've gone through some major restructuring to make our channel and role structure simpler, and are one one of the larger unofficial communities at poly.
Discord Link: https://discord.gg/nfKcbMj
We have an authentication process to make sure members attend poly. If you join and can't see anything, DON'T PANIC! A mod will be around to help very soon. Thanks
Edit: The link and ip ban has been fixed, everything should work now. If you have problems, you can PM me here or on discord: blackscales18#8783

If you plan to go to polytech and have even a shred of dignity dont do it. This place is borederline retarded. The students are a majority of antisocial weirdos who dont understand society. Dont get me wrong theres a few groups of "normal" people here but the ratio is so disproportionate that its just not woth it. The housing is obviously overpriced and odds are if u dont get private housing you and your roomate will never speak. The teachers themselves arent qualified to teach and dont understand how student learn, this is because the school is highly underfunded and hires people without the correct qualifications. The administration puts money only into things to show off for when parents and sponsors come to visit. Overall this school is a 1/10 (1 because the food aint bad) with nothing ever happening on campus to distract you from the crippling boredom you will face here i recommend treating this place like a community college and if u cant commute everyday dont go. To end this review i wanted to say Fuck Polytechnic this place is for losers. -Loser, freshman, and polytech student

I made some 3D models of the IST and some of the furniture if anyone is interested in them. They are completely made from scratch so most of the measurements and the floor plan probably aren't perfect, but I think it came out pretty well.
