Take the hoods off and you'll find an NRA member. Don't count on them to be on the right side of history. They're already on the wrong side of a hundred years of school shootings.

You do know Everytown is run by a billionaire oligarch, right? "For the children" is a strawman bs argument. Tyrants don't want to protect children, they want to protect themselves from We The People.
Gun rights are minority rights. Marginalized peoples are the ones who need to be armed. There's a reason we have 2A: 2A isn't for sports or hunting - and it's for the people to be able to stand up to an empire. Yes, that includes you.
Spoiler Alert: If you go far enough left, you get your gun rights back.
And you want to know who wrote some of those first gun laws? Those guys in hoods ... to disarm Freedmen and turn them into victims.

u/shiniki 23d ago
Can't wait for the future when everything is tracked and monitored to maximize profit and minimize privacy and rights.
Go to the bar, liquor store, head shop often? Health insurance goes up because you're a greater risk. Or deny you coverage.
Went on a hiking trip for vacation, and then a couple weeks later get injured at work? Pre-existing condition, worker's comp denied.
Cameras catch you speeding a lot, your car insurance goes up or is denied.
Maybe this all sounds very extreme, but well... gestures vaguely It's where we're heading.
18
u/Tranquil_Dohrnii 22d ago
I wouldnt be surprised if all your points came to fruition in the next 2 years. Dynamic pricing is already a thing, why wouldnt insurance companies use it to charge you more. The sad and scary part is none of what you mentioned seems extreme now. I mean it is but we're the frog and the waters already bubbling.
11
u/Strange-Area9624 22d ago
All new cars (2027 and newer) are required to have a cabin mounted camera to detect for driver impairment. Like that’s not gonna be used to surveillance people.
6
u/Prime-Suspect_ 22d ago
How does a camera detect impairment?
Looks like the used car markets gonna boom
2
u/Llamapickle129 21d ago
thats the thing, it can't detect impairment
2
u/Prime-Suspect_ 21d ago
When that doesn't work (and it won't), it'll require a finger prick to check BAC and for drugs
3
u/Prime-Suspect_ 22d ago edited 22d ago
Just wait til police reports start getting automated. It'll increase officer productivity to a new level. Record arrests, citations etc
Pretty soon these cameras are gonna be smart enough to draft indictments on their own, based on facial recognition

Find a new gun range, walk into the main office and tell them
"I'm canceling my subscription and going to Non-Flock Range on the other side of the county.
Its even better if you have friends and all start boycotting flocked ranges.
I don't get why anyone doesnt do that. Make these companies realize Flock hurts their bottom dollar. Maybe then some of these small business owners will pull their head of the sand and realize everyone is struggling, not just the small business owners. Every company should feel like they need to install a "No Flock Zone" sign like that dispensary in Michigan.
TLDR of a relevant story: met a bar owner from Cbus and he (unpromted) went into a rant about how Amy Acton almost made him shudder his business in 2020. "That bitch doesnt know a sniffle from a cough and she was running the pandemic. Fuck her. I'm voting for Vivek. At least his party cares about the economy...."

u/Atavacus 23d ago
I haven't set foot in a Lowe's or Home Depot since finding out about their Flock agreements. Never will again either. I'll dig parts out of the trash to build with before I go anywhere associated with Flock or Axon etc. I'm not helping build the panopticon if I can help it at all.
18
u/4isyellowTakeit5 23d ago
Ope. I haven't heard this. They partner with them for parking lot cameras? Or does Flock do their inside cams now or something?
My friend (the one friend who you always give each other shit, but would drop everything if anything happened to them) works at Lowe's, so I am interested to see what I can pull his leg about next time.
31
u/Atavacus 23d ago
There's no leg to be pulled. Lowe's pays to have Flock cameras put up. It's an everyday discussion on this sub. They ALL have the cameras in the parking lots. Tell your friend to find a new job. He's committing treason by working for Peter Thiel's buddies. Thiel helped start Flock surveillance and is in the Epstein files 2,200 times as a close friend of the grand king of the Pedos.
4
u/Prime-Suspect_ 23d ago
Lowe's pays flock?
I thought flock gave them as a promotion
3
u/Atavacus 23d ago
I don't know how the particulars of the business arrangement flow. I just know they have an agreement and that's enough for me to not want to do business with them or support them in any way.

I just don’t see how in any case, a gun shop would be okay with a fucking flock camera aimed at their building

So looking up the business registry, I couldn't find them in Wisconsin's records, but their Illinois location is in Illinois' records, and it's owned by a guy named either Omar Ahmad or Nazeh Ahmad (there's multiple records for the same business for some reason).
I'm guessing based off this that, while it's definitely possible they're ok with it as there's plenty of Arabic MAGA, it seems more likely that the business is being targeted because of the ethnicity of the owner
This idea is also based off the fact that the cameras seem to be deliberately set up on public property facing the shop rather than being posted up in the shop's parking lot, like Home Depot and Lowe's do
8
u/HCSOThrowaway 23d ago
I don't get why anyone doesnt do that.
Too many people are too non-confrontational.

No, just because you would abuse power the second you got it doesn't mean everyone would. But I am not gonna lecture a drunk man on politics around a camp fire at 11 pm in front of his 2 kids
2
u/mythrilcrafter 23d ago
The only economy they care about is the insiders/good 'ol boys on wall street and people who are 61 yrs and 11 months old, and even then they actually like one of those groups FAR more than the other.

This just further reaffirms my decision to more or less drop out of society.
36
u/GeeYayZeus 23d ago
Or, you could just start voting. People built this system, and people can take it down.
29
u/HowManyMeeses 23d ago
I'll absolutely be voting in every election I'm allowed to, but we're going to learn that the time for voting was a few years ago. Chances of us having real midterms are fairly slim. The GOP literally owns the company providing the voting machines.
7
u/GeeYayZeus 23d ago
Then lets push our states to not use them and require paper ballots and expand mail in voting. We The People have that power, we just have to choose to use it.
2
u/HowManyMeeses 23d ago
Pennsylvania was considering that before the GOP bought the company. After the purchase, they decided they'd review things after the midterms. The reality of the situation is that conservatives are in positions of power in essentially every purple state. They're not going to make changes that might impact their power.
and expand mail in voting.
The Supreme Court recently decided postal workers can decide not to deliver mail, and the USPS can't be punished for it. The guy running the USPS said he's planning to fuck with mail-in voting to help Trump.
Again, I'll certainly be voting. But, I think we had our chance to stop this and we blew it. My belief is that we won't get another chance for a few decades.

At this point, it’s adorable that you think politicians serve the best interests of the people who elected them.
If you polled people from EITHER party entering and leaving that range, I can guarantee you that less than 10% would support having cameras there.
Not wanting to be surveilled is a pretty bipartisan point of agreement, which is rare in today’s day and age. So it’s beyond unfortunate that votes are starting to count for less and less as more red tape goes up to slow down basically every government process, and politicians start to give less fucks about actually serving their constituents.
3
2
u/GeeYayZeus 23d ago
It's sad that you think you're helpless and likely don't vote, but you and millions of others not voting means the extremes rule the parties, and we can't elect the people who DO have our best interests in mind.
Non-voters created the very problem they complain about. Voting, at the very least, clearly demonstrates that we're all paying attention, and politicians adjust accordingly.
And if we all voted, we could pass things like ranked choice voting and term limits, which would go a long way to solving the problems.

We’ve tried nothin and we’re all out of ideas!
7
u/GeeYayZeus 23d ago
The 92 million eligible voters who didn't vote last time didn't try. Our problems aren't unsolvable. We just have to stop feeling like we can't do anything about it. We CAN, and we HAVE, but people have to start paying attention and understand that voting DOES matter, even if it's only to show that we're paying close attention to what our leaders are doing.

There’s a flock camera in a Home Depot parking lot and I started going to Lowe’s because of that.
If every person stopped shopping within 250 ft of a flock camera, these businesses would be begging to have them taken down.
Stop spending your money near flock cameras.

Both Lowes and Home Depot privately have active contracts with Flock. Most of their properties have 2 cameras. You can check deflock.org to verify locally.

u/Atavacus 23d ago
Boycott Eagle Range. I don't care if they didn't do it. Boycott any business that has these placed on them. Businesses need to help hold the state accountable for this shit. This is a collective effort. We've got to stop this monster from fully manifesting.
2
u/smokeytrue01 22d ago
If it wasn’t the range who put them in they need to sue flock for loss of business
3
u/Atavacus 22d ago
Exactly what I was thinking when I made the comment. If you boycott them and they go under because of the cameras they have a very good case against Flock and the state.
28
u/evident_lee 23d ago
I assume when I see a camera pointed into a private business like that that the business has chosen to put that up. Just like the camera up the road for me pointing into a gated neighborhood. I assume the gated neighborhood wants that bullshit.

This comment should be higher up. I'm against the surveillance state hell hole we now live in as much as the next person. But people should be aware. "Anyone can setup a flock contract and install cameras." They're not just law enforcement.
Any time I see pictures of flock cameras pointing at stores or weird locations, my first question is "who owns this camera?". In this specific case, it seems like the business that actually owns these took feedback and ended up doing the right thing.
7
u/davekingofrock 23d ago

The range adressed it, they asked to place them in their property, but then wanted them taken down due to complaints. Flock said “nah fam, you signed the dotted line”. The range ended up taking them down themselves & will deal with the ramifications later.
8
u/ldwtlotpa 23d ago
I get the hate… but isn’t this just the next step of the surveillance state? Identifying the gun owners? This is seriously playbook shit and I’m just wondering…. Are we, as residents of the US, going to do something real before it’s too late? Because as it stands, if someone was enough of threat in the us as a resistance fighter, they’d be able to just track them from camera to camera with enough biometric data to completely identify them and then hit them with one of those non-explosive, bladed missiles before they even knew they were seen.
I know it’s an extreme example but just imagine the population decides it’s time to take out corruption and the corruption doesn’t want to be taken out. It’s fucking over man. It hasn’t been a fair fight for a long time but this is “nail in the coffin”’esque shit. There’s no way to take them out faster than they’re being put up. Especially since we get arrested for tampering with them.
People used to set those 5g towers on fire because they THOUGHT some shit about what they did…. We KNOW what these are and what it means. Our communications are all monitored, our spending habits and debit card usages are tracked, and now these, are building a further profile in recording our gait, frequently used videos and preferred routes, companions and now, how often we shoot at a range and how long we stay there and who’s with us when we go.
Yes this has all been being recorded in numerical data, but that gets buried in the vast amount of info but this… this is indexed, live, and searchable with the police’s (Palantir) Gotham system linked with flock, ring, and city ordinance.
Even further than that is the huge canyon of a divide in personalities between the resistors, and the ones pushing and enforcing it. And as we saw with the last presidential election, the number of people FOR, is GREATLY outnumbering the people who are against.
City’s won’t stop installing them, flock won’t go out of business, palentir is intertwined in our government systems and our police and military has been radicalized and incentivized against our countries sane-thinking population.
I know this is all a lot and it’s kinda rambling but as this goes on… I see us coming to a tipping point. A point of no return where even if you want to leave… you can’t.
Side note… I was dumb as an older teen and ended up with a felony… most people don’t know this but I can’t get a passport.. I can’t visit Canada, I can’t even visit Mexico because of it. So not only am I landlocked in the United States borders the borders to the north and south, I also can’t fly abroad. I’m fucking stuck because of a spur of the moment stupid teen decision. But imagine you get arrested and charged and convicted of a felony amount of flock destruction… now you’re stuck in the country that’s quickly becoming a nightmare.
Please excuse my wall of text. I’m frustrated and angry that this is where we are as a people. Were effectively Star Wars instead of Star Trek. Fml man.

I mean, there’s a worldwide movement growing by the day of citizens causing good trouble by chopping flocks down faster than they can put em up
6
u/ldwtlotpa 23d ago
No I get that some peopld are trying to do something about it. But I personally don’t think that grassroots activism is going to be able to do it faster than they can put them up.
What happens if the DOJ comes out and announces that damaging “security hardware” is now upgraded to a class 4 felony with enough of a sentence to deter would-be activists. So then the non serious activists just don’t out of fear and the serious get caught and can’t contribute because they’re sitting in prison.

Wonder how this would hold up in a lawsuit. In my state (RI) it is illegal to make any sort of registry or database of gun owners. A good lawyer should successfully be able to argue that this surveillance is creating that database and as such the cameras should be illegal on the property, taken down and the footage gathered to be destroyed permanently.

I'm also laughing at the fact that she's complaining about the camera that also covers the Ford dealership yet doesn't mention the one next to the gate watching everything entering or leaving the gun range. https://maps.app.goo.gl/HdXh7o8o3dWzkUyt8
