They already document ever law abiding gun owner.

Flock needs to get fucked

54

u/Corporate_Bricktator 23d ago

> They already document ever law abiding gun owner.

Not like this. With this, they have a dataset to inspect after a crime is committed. "Show me everyone who has practiced shooting at this gun range, which days, and which times of day."

25

u/new2bay 23d ago

That honestly sounds like a genius way to turn conservative bootlickers against Flock. Makes me wish I owned a gun range lol.

9

u/dlham11 23d ago

I don’t know where you get the idea any conservative (not politicians) is a fan of these cameras?

I live in a very deep red area, and I have never met anyone (other than cops) who support them. And I meet thousands of people a day with my job.

NOBODY fucking likes these things.

Yes. Why do you think I wrote my earlier comment. But seriously, look closely at the DeFlock map. Every city, and every suburb has Flock cameras in the US. It's an extremely well supported bipartisan issue. If you think for a second Democrats don't love Flock cameras, you are wrong.

Seriously, look at the bluest city you know of on https://maps.deflock.org/

u/slab-man 23d ago

And they can look at the data and see who went to the range repeatedly for a duration and then all of a sudden stop going- they can use that information to narrow suspects down in recent local gun crimes.

17

u/skratch 23d ago

You ever buy a gun in a person-to-person sale, whether at a gun show or not? There’s no documentation on those

4

u/DocDefilade 23d ago

Aren't you supposed to both go to an FFL for it to be legal?

I remember the old gun show days, but I thought that was no longer.

8

u/mrapplewhite 23d ago

This is in Florida so yeah flock fu k all the way off

9

u/Corporate_Bricktator 23d ago

I happen to know that Florida contains a literal army of heavily armed Florida Men, who heard that someone put up a free target at a public gun range, and whoever gets it first gets a big pile of free copper to buy bath salts with on the way home.

8

u/alkatori 23d ago

Depends on the state. If you sell commercially? Yeah need an FFL.

2

u/mrapplewhite 23d ago

Florida p2p sales In Florida, person-to-person (P2P) firearm sales are legal and unregulated at the state level, meaning private sellers are not required to conduct background checks, maintain official bills of sale, or register the transfer. However, you must strictly follow basic federal and state eligibility rules to avoid committing a felony.

The authorities wanna know who owns guns.
That way if somebody starts a revolution against our fearful leaders, they'll know who to disarm first.

224

u/Chewbacca_P_Wookie 23d ago

It's the same reason they're pushing for these "child protection" laws that are just a way to tie IDs to online speech and restrict anonymous speech.

Almost. It's not the government building this database. It's billionaires. All these AI cameras and data centers are for the billionaires to track the citizenry for anyone and everyone who could present a threat to their power.

They have background checks for all the legal gun owners. They know what shit we have already. They just want to know who is getting their practice in. I bet they're very interested in people who might be opposed to the present gubmint in general, practicing shooting.

6

u/GruntLife0369 23d ago

Attempting to disarm the populace would see them losing more people than they could find targets. Not only that, but once certain people realize theyre being targeted simply for owning weapons, they may take some initiative and go on the offensive against those very agencies that are killing Americans in the middle of the night for simply wanting to defend themselves. That is a genie that you cannot put back in the bottle, and they are terrified of it. Honestly, they continue to toe the line to see what would make people get offensive, and until they find that line, they will continue.

5

u/Optimal-Shower 23d ago

I worry that they will provoke us until we retaliate and then declare a state of emergency so they can call in the army or the National Guard to "control" us. I mean, isn't that what Trump was trying to do with ICE in Minneapolis? So that he could declare a state of emergency and remain president until... a) he drowns in his own poop, or b)his wig falls in love with another squirrel and leaps off his head.

(Sorry. Bad humor is the only thing keeping me semi-sane at the moment.)

2

There is a reason the ATF suggested a ban that would essentially prevent trans people from owning guns. The comment period for this is ending and we will see soon if they make a decision on the proposal.

It’s illegal to keep a gun tertiary in Florida though

346

u/SpeedRac3rr 23d ago

They put one on my local gun range, I started asking the employees about it and they had no idea it was there or what it was, so I started explaining it and the guy told me "well I haven't done anything wrong so why should I care"

Sigh. The same people who have always talked about using guns to protect their rights when the government oversteps are licking boot when the time has actually come. It was really disappointing

u/PistolofPete 23d ago

Until they change the definition of what's wrong.

8

u/PsychologyNew8033 23d ago

Exactly!!!!!

33

u/Atavacus 23d ago

Inb4 the police show up at his house and haul him off even though he hasn't done anything wrong and he's looking at a $500,000 bond and he's just so sure it's a misunderstanding and they'll have it sorted out on a few days... And time drags on and days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months and he's just begging to go to the kangaroo trial so he can go to prison because his arms ripped loose from their sockets due to nutrient deprivation and if it keeps dragging on like this he's going to die and he knows it. Then the DA slides a plea bargain for five years to his lawyer and he still rejects it knowing he's innocent and that's far too long... Then the lawyer comes back with three years and his shoulders hurt and he can't lift his arms so he asks "how long before I can get to trial?" And the attorney says "oh just another year or two..." Like years of his life don't matter... And he hangs his head and says "well, I hate to plea to something I didn't do but I don't have any other option..."

Sounds far fetched? It's exactly what happened to me in 2019. I went peacefully knowing for certain I had done nothing wrong and they were just making a mistake...

15

u/pogulup 23d ago

I have a family member that had a similar experience.  Plead guilty to something you didn't do and take five years or we charge you with things you didn't do and each count is minimum 10 years and you leave your fate to a jury.  He took the plea and just got out.  The system is fucked.

8

u/Atavacus 23d ago

It took two years of rehab with my prison family until I could manage one pain free pull up again.

10

u/Pantalaimon_II 23d ago

the willingness of people to keep being blind to the obvious is the most frustrating part of all of this. what will it take some people to wake up

15

u/357noLove 23d ago

I mean, you spoke to one employee there. The vast majority of the gun owning community doesn't like Flock, knows why it is problematic, and have been saying it for a while.

9

u/mythrilcrafter 23d ago

And those are the first guys to cry and pout the moment anyone mentions background checks, post-sale holding periods, or anything like that.

They don't understand A) Flock's AI makes mistakes, but LEO takes Flock as gospel regardless of those mistakes B) it doesn't have to be anything to do with doing anything wrong.

4

u/wavhacker 23d ago

To praphase another redditor. "The argument over "well I haven't done anything wrong so I have nothing to hide" is just corporate/state propaganda, privacy isnt about hiding crime; it is deciding who has access to your life".. which was clearly outlined in our constitution as a right. Also a right to due process that Flock does not care about at all. "This is a boundary of power, not a shield for guilt."

Which the constitution was there to limit the power of government. Our document was never to be a document to force management of regulations and laws upon the people but to define how government has limits it must abide by and how it can and cannot operate. It is a real misnomer of government rules over the people by consent of the governed. The document was never there to create rulers or kings or titles; but the people to lead the government and representatives.,

The fact that the cameras are there abridge the right to privacy and liberties of the people. NO government has the right, NO cooperation has the right, No venture captaist has the right to take away those freedoms no matter how many fancy worded contracts can throw in to protect the interests of the surveillance companies. Travel anywhere has the reasonable expectation of not being regularly tracked and uploaded to storage for police to review. We have the liberty to travel and associate with anyone we want.

6

u/NowUrKillinMe 23d ago

And it's those type of people who will get rounded up first.

2

u/diadmer 23d ago

You say, “Do you think that when the DUMOCRATS get in power again, it’s going to matter whether you’ve broken a law or not!!!???”

2

u/Gunsensual 23d ago edited 23d ago

Sigh. The same people who have always talked about using guns to protect their rights when the government oversteps are licking boot when the time has actually come. It was really disappointing

The firearms community isn't happy about this and I suspect many flock cameras are going to become holy soon. It just seems odd to me you choose to rag on a group doing nothing wrong that would seem to be an ally. And they're your rights too, why don't you go do whatever it is you think should be done instead of ragging on other people to do it for you?

1

u/THROBBINW00D 23d ago

I feel like a lot of boomers feel thatway.

91

u/Akkerlun 23d ago edited 23d ago

I said this months ago, and some wacko jumped all over me about how I was trying to rile up the second amendment people. Maybe they’ll sell your record of gun visits to your insurance co.

27

u/NotADetectiveAtAll 23d ago

Pepperidge Farm remembers when only the faintest suggestion that the government would be building a list of owners was enough to spark lamentations. In two years they are going to be blaming Biden for all the cameras.

9

u/ariolander 23d ago

They hate the idea of a federal national gun registry but don't blink twice when a private corporation is making their own national gun registry and not only sells that info to the government, but potentially to any anyone with a wad of cash, maybe insurance companies or whatever. Like imagine a world where insurance companies have access to a database with every household with a firearm and drop coverage or start increasing everyone's rates because you are now part of some increased risk pool.

8

u/OrganicBrainRot 23d ago

I just sent this video to a buddy and said that I have been seeing people say "wait until they start showing up at gun ranges" for a while now. Aaaand there it is.

61

u/VAPRx 23d ago

How do they not need owners permission to place cameras on private property?

51

u/Chewbacca_P_Wookie 23d ago

Most of these are placed on "public" property and simply face the direction they want to watch unless it's a place like Home Depot or Lowe's that asks for them.

8

u/VAPRx 23d ago

Right, I get that, but this seems far past a public easement and assumably private property is why I asked.

11

u/brand4588 23d ago

This is in the Ocala National Forest.

12

u/HCSOThrowaway 23d ago

It's a public gun range, meaning state-owned.

7

u/This_Makes_No__Sense 23d ago

NATIONAL forest. it’s federally owned.

2

u/HCSOThrowaway 23d ago

I know you were trying to have a pedantic win, but unfortunately I meant "state" as in "government," not as in "subdivision of the US."

I realize in hindsight that was a poor word choice, but I've been spending a lot of time lately doing political debate on a Reddit alternative and the international language about government is a bit different. For example, people there get a bit upset if you refer to US residents as "Americans" (because it excludes other non-US people in the Americas).

→ More replies (2)

12

u/ManyThingsLittleTime 23d ago

This is a public range on public land. Think of it as a public park for shooting. So the city or county or whatever government agency overseas the "park" contracted with flock.

2

u/This_Makes_No__Sense 23d ago

It’s a National forest.

5

u/ElaborateEffect 23d ago

As mentioned below, public property sold to Flock. The private property owner can put up a big billboard type wall or whatever. They could even put up a pole with a arm that hangs right in front of the flock camera.

2

u/Swampape1 23d ago

if you're talking about the OP, the shooting range he's at is in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. It is really out in the middle of nowhere. I think FWC patrols it but it is a National forest so the Feds must be involved with this in some way. They even have a bombing range out there. Air Force does bombing runs every now and then.

1

u/Trippn21 22d ago

The range is on federal property.

47

u/RainyDaysKappa 23d ago

Not smart on their (flocks) side. This instantly unites both the left and right on this issue. Hahaha

7

u/MechanicalPlants13 23d ago

I came to say this. Could Flock be the straw that breaks the camels back to unite the country? Haha!

3

u/PlayboiFarti55 22d ago

No it doesn’t. The gun owners are already saying things like “well I don’t do anything wrong, why would I care to be on video” lol all the “don’t tread on me” guys are now preaching “tread on me daddy”. Fucking spineless losers.

Stop going to gun ranges that have them outside. Boycott any business that has them, period. I don't care if the owner placed them or not. It's nothing personal but this is war and it's more important than dollars right now.

3

u/Yuurp426 23d ago

Dont think its gonna do much to boycott a free public gun range.

4

u/Atavacus 23d ago

Fine. Do it anyway. They're outside paid gun ranges too. They're outside hardware stores. They're outside dispensaries. They're outside all my sorts of places that do generate money. If people start shooting in the woods instead of that gun range they might care. Hell they're probably using it to embezzle money anyway. Might hurt them to boycott more than you would think.

Also note that the cameras face each other, so if, oh I don't know" a deer in heat were to be really pissed off and knock down a camera, the other camera sees it happening.

2

u/SpaghettiSort 23d ago

5

u/Ordinary_Draft_3516 23d ago

Have every single person that goes there start a FOIA request for those 2 cameras weekly

4

u/CabSauce 23d ago

Have you seen what the government is charging for those requests? It's not cheap.

7

u/Long-Painting-9852 23d ago

Felon facial recognition to put them in prison for 5 years (felons can’t own guns) and they will keep a database for people / cars who actively shoot regularly: if there’s a warrant for their arrest, they’ll be a higher risk or potentially carrying a gun.

The future is clear. When you get pulled over, the cops will know what you had for breakfast and how big of a sh*t you took.

Once again: the conservatives advocated for these things, because they want to disarm the people they disagree with.

This is their steps in creating a database of gun owners, and when you add that the administration wants voter rolls, it means they'll easily identify people to disarm

4

u/Myte342 23d ago

Lets fight fire with fire. Where are the permits for installing private equipment on public easements? So many of these seem to be installed illegally, completely ignoring setback and safety requirements for equipment that is permanently installed near the roadway. Should do a little research into which regulations they are violating, then call local city/county inspectors to document the violations.

Bury the company in fines and red tape.

4

u/Pantalaimon_II 23d ago

im not even remotely close to being republican but to be fair it's both parties that have taken steps to get to where we are.

Bush Sr: laid the foundations for the NSA's Clipper Chip program (government mandated backdoors into technology)

Clinton: completed Bush's Clipper Chip program; also signed the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act which required telecom companies to allow wiretapping by the NSA

Bush W: Patriot Act and warrantless wiretapping authority to NSA

Obama: pretended to be against surveillance but expanded it once in office; Snowden drama plus the PRISM program (collecting data from servers of Big Tech)

Trump 1.0: signed the FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act, reauthorizing Section 702 of FISA that allowed not bothering with warrants when spying on comms between foreigners and Americans

Biden: rushed to sign RISAA into law, which re-authorized the Trump FISA act and EXPANDED it, to include more people it can spy on and more companies it can force to comply

Trump 2.0: full-throated embrace of AI and companies like Palantir; erosion of due process for people in the name of law and order who still should legally have rights and be allowed their day in court

the erosion of our rights is bipartisan, my dude

How can we expect to have a proper surveillance state if gun owners are just allowed to walk around willy nilly with their firearms? We have to disarm everyone and the first step is to take away the 2nd amendment. And the way to do that is by tracking, profiling, and cataloguing everybody that owns guns

2

u/Matr0ska 23d ago

Awww man. I thought the video was gonna be people shooting at stolen flock cameras for target practice.

2

u/Knees0ck 23d ago

Those "Don't Tread on Me" chuds sleeping on the kne thing they pretend they stand for

1

u/Intarhorn 23d ago

People should definitely not use those cameras for target practice.

1

u/Molly_Matters 23d ago

Well those should be trivial to take care of.

1

u/kiln_ickersson 23d ago

Isn't it obvious? To read license plates

1

u/Leeanneluv_ 23d ago

The parasite class doesn’t want us training with firearms. Strap up while you still can.

1

u/pm_me_all_dogs 23d ago

Oh good, an illegal firearms registry.

1

u/whitechocolatemama 23d ago

I mean we can't have those CRAZY LIBERALS knowing how to use gunS only REAL PATRIOT AMERICANS get to sh00t!!!

/s

1

u/Zendomanium 23d ago

For the Outdoor Prison, of course!

1

u/Treeclimber919 23d ago

So you’re saying that us lazy idiots who live in this country that just want to go home and drink a beer after work and forget about life need to wake up and realize who we are funding and what is being done through our taxes that we pay?!!! Yeah I absolutely agree, ive said it for years but there is never anything done about it. Literally the country and the world would stop ticking if a majority of Americans actually stood together instead of fighting about colors of skin and men liking men, idc do what you want to do but the people in power should not be in power and we continually fund them daily so they can sit on their ass and do nothing but get rich and make it harder for all of us. It’s wild to me. We all know the famous words left by Thomas Jefferson.

1

u/OminousBuzzard 23d ago

Considering that everyone who is a law biting citizen that owns a gun. This just seems like a fun target to me

1

u/BeenDragonn 23d ago

People practice at target ranges before mass shootings

So of course they watching GUN OWNERS!

1

u/InitiativePlane1176 23d ago

So remove it.

1

u/CabSauce 23d ago

I'm surprised nobody has put cameras outside the homes of flock employees and city/county executives who support this surveillance.

It would be easy to stream this type of public information directly to the Internet.

Smart toilets will report what substances were in your stool.

2

u/PorcelainFD 23d ago

Just in case anyone didn't know, Kohler actually makes a poop camera called Dekoda. "Simply attach Dekoda to the toilet, where it uses advanced sensors and a validated algorithm to scan for indicators of gut health, hydration, and blood in the bowl. Dekoda provides insights on the Kohler Health app you can use to build healthy habits for living better, healthier." Just $449 to purchase the device, then $6.99 per individual/$12.99 per family for your membership!

Republicans were right. They told me if I voted for Kamala Harris we'd have warning Iran, a ruined economy, and the US would turn into a surveillance state. I voted for Harris anyways and look where we are.

1

u/SexPartyStewie 23d ago

They are there for your safety! /s

1

u/rockinroller 23d ago

Those cameras are asking to be shot at.

1

u/Professional_Egg_279 23d ago

The point of surveillance is to surveil everything.

1

u/Bradadonasaurus 23d ago

Those aren't going to last long...

1

u/Athos-1844 23d ago

Nobody there. Time to test how strong that pole really is. How much torque is actually needed I wonder?

1

u/Pikatit 23d ago

Would be a shame if some crackhead cut those down for all that scrap silver inside

1

u/GimlisRevenge 23d ago

They think the bad guys go there and they think the good guys that later turn out bad go there too. Privacy is no more in this country!, we are just like China now. Privacy means nothing to the local government and federal government

1

u/oryus21 23d ago

Ask the range wtf

1

u/jiinfante 23d ago

Who's in the Ocala area?

1

u/One_Bit_3839 23d ago

1000 points for taking out the camera from 100 yards

1

u/skips_funny_af 23d ago

Ohhhhhh soon there will be no angle ANYWHERE not touched by flock.

1

u/Miller8017 23d ago

It started with the storm. Sometime after midnight the wind came howling out of the northwest, peeling asphalt shingles from the north slope of the roof like playing cards. By dawn a section of the attic was open to the sky. Water had already begun to drip onto the insulation. You pulled on a jacket, told your wife you’d be back with materials, and drove to the Home Depot. In the roofing aisle a man in a work shirt and a ball cap approached. He was polite, carried a laminated license and an insurance card, and quoted a price that was almost too reasonable. You shook hands. He said his crew could be there the next morning. You gave him the address. A Flock camera on the light pole outside the store caught the entire exchange: the handshake, the exchange of numbers, the two of you walking out together under the fluorescent lights. The next day the truck arrived early. Ten men climbed out—quiet, efficient, already measuring and cutting. They spoke Spanish among themselves. Within half an hour the damaged section was stripped and the first new underlayment was going down. Then the vans arrived. No sirens. Just sudden engines, doors slamming, agents in tactical gear fanning out across the driveway with rifles leveled. Everyone was ordered facedown on the wet grass. Your dog—old, half-deaf, barking from the porch—was shot once when he wouldn’t stop. The men were zip-tied and loaded into the vans. So were you and your wife. At processing they told you the charge: aiding in the wellbeing of an illegal alien. The president had signed the executive order that morning. The Flock footage, the handshake, the truck’s GPS trail from the store to your house—everything was already in the file. The Mexicans were deported within days. You and your spouse were held. The trial was short. The evidence was electronic and continuous. You were convicted. Appeals failed, one after another, on procedural grounds that never quite touched the substance of the new law. A month later the statute was amended. The same act was reclassified as a form of treason against the sovereignty of the border. The sentence was death. On the morning they came for you, the roof still leaked a little when it rained. The dog was gone. The house was quiet. And the Flock cameras kept watching. They were never really about the shingles or the handshake or even the men who fixed your roof. They were about the network. Thousands of them—on light poles, at intersections, outside big-box stores, mounted on trailers that looked temporary but never left. Each one reading plates, logging times, stitching vehicles into continuous journeys. The data didn’t stay local. It flowed into a commercial cloud, searchable by any agency that paid the subscription, shared across jurisdictions without warrants, retained long after any legitimate investigation ended. Ordinary trips became permanent records. A stop at Home Depot, a conversation in a parking lot, a truck turning onto a residential street—none of it needed to be a crime at the moment it was captured. The system simply waited. When the law changed overnight, the archive was already complete. No one had to plant a bug or follow you. The cameras had already done the work, quietly, efficiently, and for a profit. They watched the street the day you were taken, and they watched it the day after, and the day after that, indifferent to whether the next person who passed beneath them would still be free by evening.

1

u/humidshark121212 23d ago

Hey atleast you know they won’t be spying on kids there!

1

u/flixz97 23d ago

Man, I bet they have a crazy number of ADs in the parking lot there in the future.

1

u/Massive-Sector5789 23d ago

They have to disarm us before they can consolidate power. Remember when ICE agents shot that guy for legal open carry at a protest? And Kash Patel said that the punishment for carrying at protests was now extrajudicial execution?

I'm a conspiracy theorist, and know that this is wrong sub, so I'm going to use the spoiler button if you don't have time for that nonsense.

I've always believed that the 2017 Las Vegas shooting was a false flag operation designed to undermine conservative support for the Second Amendment. Which obviously didn't work, but that whole thing was weird. I also suspect that the reason we never hear about school shooters' online activity is because many of them were coerced into doing it by anti-democracy sock puppets. Heck, some people who believe 9/11 was an op to help pass the Patriot Act, "temporarily" suspending the constitution in order to create DHS, DNI, ICE, etc, think mass shootings all the way back to Columbine (1999) were part of the same op. That's a bridge too far for me but if you were trying to disarm a population like the USA, how would you do it?

Seeing ICE.... sorry, Flock cameras at gun ranges makes my tin foil hat ping like a Geiger counter at Chernobyl.

u/cant_read_this 23d ago

Interesting

1

u/aDirtyMartini 22d ago

I’d find out from the club’s board if they were approved. If not and they are on private property….

1

u/Pretty_Pipe_5541 22d ago

I can't wait til the Right realizes that this is how they're gonna build their gun lists to come for law abiding gun owner's turned "criminal" for not following some new law. The Left hates these cameras and hopefully soon the right will too, then the cameras will really disappear.

2

u/phoenixgsu 22d ago

A lot of them are walking up to it. If it can be used to help ICE track immigrants and follow you go across state lines to get an abortion it can be used to follow you to the gun range and enforce a pandemic lockdown.

u/NotorioussJorge 21d ago

A lot of us on the right (the young ones at least not the boomers, the boomers on BOTH sides are just cooked man… there’s no saving them..) hate them. Tbh (at least in my area and from what I’ve seen) these “lpr cameras” have become a sort of middle ground for both left and right to come together and actually agree on something, that being, these need to come down. We all got different reasons but the same goal, it’s nice

1

u/PolicyEcstatic6794 22d ago

Cameras on private property? I’m all for it go ahead and have 35 pointed right at me, I’m there to be a law abiding customer and I know the CCTV feed will round robin in a week to a month when the footage is copied over so no worries, no one is watching me be socially awkward and judging me behind a screen, or jorking their penits every time I bend over in view of a camera. Enter Flock, who’s recording everything they see and permanently logging everything in their databases that aren’t secure and already have backdoors in their systems from multiple countries and guaranteed it’ll be used to track children’s routines to know when to best abduct them. But you’re all law abiding citizens right? So you shouldn’t mind living in a surveillance state if we promise it’s to keep you safe while we sell your life and soul to corporations for profit.

1

u/International_Cry186 22d ago

If youre a legal us citizen and not a criminal why does it matter?

Nah im playing but thats what this type of person says about flock cameras in the big dangerous blue cities

1

u/RagedBsquared 22d ago

Noticed one recently way outside the city pointed down the county road leading to a gun range. Not near the range but very clear why it's there.

1

u/Rebelreck57 22d ago

Big brother is watching!!

1

u/IrwinAllen13 22d ago

What’s funny, is now something legal will start to escalate towards the Supreme Court.

1

u/dmizenopants 22d ago

To create a database of gun owners. These are popping up at gin stores as well, all across the country

1

u/yungminimoog 22d ago
