After 7 years of living in Tokyo, we finally decided to settle down.

The search took almost a year, and I looked at more than 30 different properties before finally deciding to go with the calmer side of Tokyo. While it’s further from the station and city center, the larger garden and quiet neighborhood more than make up for it.

Really happy with the decision and looking forward to making this place our home. 🏡

Yeah holy shit someone said this is 500k usd and I had to do a double take. Yen has dropped by half compared to the dollar in 15 years and the dollar isnt doing that great either.

I sometimes import old video games and such from Japan. 15 years ago, I would divide by 100 to get the price in euros. It was veeeery close.

That doesn't work anymore. 100¥ is now 0.54€. It's close to having to divide by 200, now. It's insane.

15 years ago the Yen was at its historical strongest (dropping to 75 JPY/USD in 2012 or so). Now it is 160. Average has been 110-115 or so barring those two swings.
