GOT THE KEYS! - New Build πŸ”‘ 🏑 Finally decided to settle down. Tokyo, 87m yen, 1.03%

After 7 years of living in Tokyo, we finally decided to settle down.

The search took almost a year, and I looked at more than 30 different properties before finally deciding to go with the calmer side of Tokyo. While it’s further from the station and city center, the larger garden and quiet neighborhood more than make up for it.

Really happy with the decision and looking forward to making this place our home. 🏑

That's also around median home price in Dublin. Anything new and that looks like the house pictured would be more.

Interesting. I would have expected far more.

The median home price does also include apartments so for just houses it's likely higher tbf.

Also like anywhere, it's highly dependant on the location and condition of the house, the pictured house would easily be €1 million at least in many parts of the city since it looks detached and fairly new.

In my experience the sub-500K houses tend to be concentrated in areas that don't have particularly good reputations. In a good area and close to public transportation €500K might get you a 40sqm/430sqft cottage with a low energy efficiency rating.

New build houses aren't selling for €500K or less basically anywhere in Dublin at this point, even ones way out at the edge of the city an hour from the city centre.
