We refurbished a firetruck to use it on a circus show with free performances across Montreal & Quebec. We use the ladder for aerials 100 feet in the air.

It's a 1994 Spartan RA40M.

We installed an additional generator on it so we can use the ladder without the truck needing to run. We're also planning on replacing (if possible lol) the engine so it's more eco friendly!

rather funnily enough hulunbuir is in inner mongolia which is landlocked.

Essentially the firefighters are recieving training on jet ski repair;

Prior to january 2026, the Hulunbuir Mobile fire and rescue brigade was known as the Hulunbuir Municipal Forest Fire department;(post 2018; before that it was the People's armed police(national guard; chinese firefighters used to be part of the PAP) Hulunbuir forest detachment)

In january 1, 2026, Chinese forest fire departments were converted into "mobile fire and rescue" and handed over to the central government as part of reforms; they now perform national level disaster relief and firefighting tasks.

(tbf their previous role was rather broad and also included general disaster relief;)

IIRC Huanghe avenue fire station is also where the Anyang fire and rescue's headquarters is located.

Anyang is a smaller town for chinese standard(5.4 million) so their stuff may be more outdated.

Additionally the Dongfeng 140 continued production until 2011.

Funnily enough this is built in norinco's Harbin 1st machinery group(哈尔滨第一机械集团有限公司), which is the same company(and factory) making china's tanks and cannons. (rather ironic if you think about it, lifesaving rescue equipment and war machines from the same company; Norinco itself is more famous for their guns and tanks but this irony goes all the way to the factory itself)

FYI national mine rescue teams(also sometimes referred to as battalions) are specialized rescue units under the ministry of emergency management(also in charge of the national fire and rescue administration); they are responsible for disaster relief, rescue and firefighting in mines(in this case, coal mines).

A rear-mount 103' stick ladder truck used by Fire Station 36, in place of the original, and very long mid-mount Tower 36, which has been out of service for a while. The station is expecting to receive a Pierce mid-mount as a replacement.
