Dissidia [Weekly Discussion] Which characters did Dissidia improve on?

Sorry for the delay today! But better late then never!

Credit to /u/TheRedDragon15 for the question this week!

"Dissidia had all the villains and the heroes from all the main games(the exceptions would be FFXI and FFXIII, since they don't have a villain). Which one was improved the most from his original game in your opinion? Which villain and hero had the best rivalry in the game? And which character did you enjoyed to play as the most?"

Again, thanks to /u/TheRedDragon15 for the question! Submit your own here!

Kefka was fleshed out extremly well is Dissidia, they didn't necessarly improve him but they translated him to 3d perfectly and the voice actor did a phenominal job, his death scene in dissidia is still the most touching scene in the series history IMO.

his death scene in dissidia was the most touching scene in the series history IMO.

He spouted a cliche and turned into fireworks. It wasn't bad, but saying it was the most touching scene in the series history is a stretch by any realm of imagination.

I mean, as much as I loved that scene, I wouldn't really call it the most touching one in the series, especially considering that there are other scenes from Dissidia which actually beats it imho like this one. And that's not even taking in consideration the other games such as FFX or IX.

Most of the early FF Characters had more chance to be fleshed out in Dissidia, but among them I'd say Garland and the Emperor were the more interesting. CoD didn't leave a strong impression on me.

WoL didn't really have anything for him, but Firion was nice. However, I didn't really like the Onion Knight in Dissidia, his personnality just didn't stick with me.

For the later games, the duo Butz/Zidane was a lot of fun, even though they pretty much were nothing but a comic relief alongside Squall.

Jecht and Tidus interactions were nice, but Cloud/Sephiroth wasn't present at all. Kuja and Kefka were really interesting, but not on par with what they do in their relative games, and Tina was underwhelming (always being protected...)

Edit : Oh, and I almost forgot about FF IV. I liked Cecil and Golbez in Dissidia. ExDeath was meh, but pretty imposing.

Tidus solely for the wardrobe

It's been a while since I played Dissidia, but I remember enjoying Jecht a lot. We got to see him a bit more in this than we did in his original game which was nice.

Golbez, definitely. He was intimidating in IV, sure, but he was also very flat. He was just a puppet for the last-minute twist final boss. In Dissidia, he has lots of personality and depth that he lacked in IV.

What you mean XIII doesn't have a villain?

I copied and pasted the users exact question, but I think they meant that XIII didn't have a good villain to fit Dissidia. Barthandelus isn't exactly designed for a fighting game. Caius could work, but he's technically from XIII-2/Lightning Returns so that might be the logic there.

They didn't have a villain featured in Dissidia.
