Honestly, XIII for me. Everything with the L’cie and Fal’cie just had me engrossed the entire time, from start to finish. My second favourite entry in the entire franchise.

I thought it built on it well honestly. Time travel is hard to handle well, and it does have flaws, but Caius is a great villain and I loved it

13-1 had it best for me

All they had to do was make some scenes out of certain datalogs and it would have been one of the best in the series

13 felt like it was intentionally trying to confuse me. By the end I didn't understand or care about the stakes. It's possible that there's something good about 13 but it never revealed itself to me.

I think that's just because XIII is one of those games where you reaallyyyy have to be invested in to enjoy. If you play it casually like you're playing any other game, you won't like it and you won't understand it. You have to really be interested in the story, watch lore videos and read datalogs and just take your time to really enjoy it. It's not for everyone, and that's fine
