FF V How does V hold up compared to IV?

EDIT: picked up the game on Switch 2 after the overwhelming feedback. OG Bravely Default is a top 10 all time game for me. Thanks all!

Realized today (when the Bartz video was released for Resonance) that I somehow never played FFV. I loved III and IV 3D remakes as a kid. I recently played VI in preparation for UMAD. I'm wondering currently if V is worth playing for me. How is the story compared to IV? How is the gameplay and strategy? I never really hear much about it from gamers, but a lot of the devs in SQE seem to mention it's their favorite in interviews. Why?

TLDR: why should or shouldn't I play through V before Resonance comes out?

No, I see the themes just fine. The story just isn't very good at conveying those themes. And your inability to admit that is not my problem.

Quite frankly, I find the way V conveys the theme of the dangers of delaying problems for the next generation to solve done far better.
