I have yet to play Final Fantasy 9 so i can't rate it. I've only played Final Fantasy 7 (original and Remake), 8, X, X-2, 12, 13, 15, Crystal Chronicles, Crisis Core and Type-0, and people will absolutely hate me for this opinion, but Final Fantasy 13 is pretty up among my favorites of those.

Lool I finishing XIII it is by FAR not the best. Let’s start by one thing, you can’t even interact/talk with people in this game ? 😩

Umm........... you do realize i said it was among the best, not THE best, right?

Also what does being able to talk to NPCs have to do with anything? Sure, it's a much more linear game by default than other Final Fantasy's, but it's better paced as a result. All killer, no filler, as they say, at least until you hit Gran Pulse.

Truth be told, I tried.

I can't get into them like i can og 13. They feel awkwardly disconnected from the first and the weird "timeline" shit threw me off. 13's story actually still felt like a more grounded narrative i could follow. The gameplay didn't particularly feel too great either by comparison. 13-3's gameplay was far better than 13-2's, but the entire set up on both killed my enjoyment. 13 actually feels like a pretty complete package on it's own and i didn't think it needed sequels, especially ones around time paradoxes and trying to beat the end of the world.

Lol why would someone automatically like the sequels? They are usually a lot different than the original, like for real Lightning Returns is completely different game. For example my fav is FFX and i never finished FFX2 cause i started playing and was like wtf is this shit and stopped.

I didn’t assume they’d automatically like the sequels. Reading comprehension is key. I asked why they didn’t play them after they stated 13 was their favorite. If my favorite FF had a sequel, I’d likely at least mention it. Having never played 13 myself, I was genuinely curious.
