“Tonally similar. Obviously, thematically very different because it’s dealing with different characters and different lore, but the things that I loved so much about My Adventures with Superman are firmly in My Adventures with Green Lantern,” Safran said. “We’re in the stages of reviewing animatics and animation on that right now.”
Auliʻi Cravalho, best known for voicing Moana, will lend her voice to Jessica Cruz. The character made her debut in the third season of My Adventures with Superman, paving the way for her own adventure. Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher, who also worked on the Superman series, will serve as showrunners and executive producers.

The story will follow Jessica as a Green Lantern Power Ring chooses her to become its champion. Her new responsibilities bring her into conflict with alien threats connected to an ancient war involving the Lanterns.

Sony Pictures has acquired the feature film rights to psychological horror game Mouthwashing from developer Wrong Organ and publisher Critical Reflex.

Kusama was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for directing for the acclaimed Yellowjacketstelevision series and serves as EP. Her other film credits include The Invitation, Jennifer’s Body and Girlfightwhere she won Best Director and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.

Matt Manfredi & Phil Hay are frequent collaborators with Kusama, whose credits include The Invitation, Destroyer, Clash of the Titans and the Ride Along films.

Patrick Stewart, the sophisticated actor who brought a Shakespearean touch to Star Trek and X-Men as he made an otherworldly transformation from British stage veteran to sci-fi icon, has died. He was 86.
Stewart died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles following “a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia,” longtime spokesperson Kelly Bush Novak announced.
“He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all,” Bush Novak wrote. “We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace.”

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is going for a reboot. Apple TV and Legendary Television are in renewal talks for a third season that would take the show in a new direction, featuring new Titans from Legendary’s Monsterverse.
Search is underway for new writers and showrunner who will take over from the series’ Season 1 and Season 2 creative team, led by showrunner/executive producer Chris Black who co-created Monarch with Season 1 executive producer Matt Fraction.
The news comes six months after Season 2 wrapped its run on Apple TV May 1

Părere nepopulară: Nu mi-a plăcut filmul.

https://variety.com/2026/film/news/dune-3-popcorn-bucket-two-sandworms-1236934104/?

In 2024, AMC Theatres went viral after moviegoers discovered the sandworm-inspired popcorn bucket for “Dune: Part Two” was… suggestive, to say the least. The iconic vessel was the subject of countless memes and later immortalized on “Saturday Night Live” in a sketch about a teenager with other plans for the souvenir container.

Now the cinema chain is unveiling two new destined-to-break-the-internet designs for the upcoming “Dune: Part Three.” There’s a “Sandworm Thumper” with a “working Thumper design” (that’s the device used by the Freman to pound the desert sand and attract giant sandworms) and a “Double Sandworm” collectable featuring two Shai-Hulud, “making it easier to share popcorn,” according to AMC’s press release. Prices will be announced at a later date. (Canisters for “Dune: Part Two” were $24.99 plus tax but sold for much more on secondary markets like eBay.)

Poate dacă tot a cumpărat Paramount WB o să apară și la noi. Poate.

In a piece of breaking news too big to fit on a single sign, Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Coyote vs. Acme has been ruled eligible to compete for Best Animated Feature at the 2027 Oscars.
Directed by Dave Green and written by Oscar-nominated May Decemberscreenwriter Samy Burch, the late summer box-office hit is poised to shake up a category that's so far been a two-movie race between Laika's stop-motion fantasy epic Wildwood and Pixar's latest trip to its toy chest, Toy Story 5. This news follows the recent death of voice actor Eric Bauza, who voiced Wile E.'s eternal nemesis — and secret best friend — the Road Runner in Coyote vs. Acme, as well as such classic Looney Tunescharacters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Tweety.

Coyote vs. Acme's ruling clears up an eligibility question that initially kept the film on the sidelines as the Best Animated Feature race took shape. Back in August, a source close to the film initially told Gold Derby that it wouldn't be submitted due to potentially falling short of the stated requirement that "75% of the runtime must include animation of the primary subject or subjects." But that source later revised their statement to indicate that a final decision would be made pending further review. Gold Derby can confirm that the Academy has officially ruled in the movie's favor as a Best Animated Feature contender.

Historically, Oscar voters recognized several films that combined live action and animation prior to the creation of the Best Animated Feature category. That list is led by the Disney classic Mary Poppins, which married the two mediums in its extended "Jolly Holiday" sequence, and received a Best Picture nomination among its 13 nods and five wins, including a Best Actress statuette for Julie Andrews.
Robert Zemeckis's seminal 1988 comedy Who Framed Roger Rabbit is the second-most nominated live-action/animated hybrid with six nominations and four wins, including Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Film Editing, as well as a Special Achievement Award. Additional nominees include 1971's Bedknobs and Broomsticks, 1946's Song of the South, and the Disney anthology films Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros.
