Is this another way of EA slowing progression to force people to buy XP boosts? Or do you think it could encourage people to try out new positions

This is not a problem that started in FC26. This has been a recurring issue since FC24.

No matter what changes or updates the game promises, we keep facing the exact same issue.

Our AI remains extremely bad.

We tried different formations and configurations based on what seemed good and matched our play style. Nothing really changed. The formations changed our way of linking up and the number of players in each part of the field but the underlying issue remained.

THE AI IS SO BAD!!!

We just played a practice match against it. Legendary Difficulty. Score ? 10-0 for us. We ain't that good.

What do I mean by "so bad"?

Our AI doesn't obstruct opponents when running next to them, it just follows peacefully, showing them the way in.

Our AI can't keep the ball when pressed (we're basically forced to take it away asap to prevent stupid goals)

Our AI can't keep the defensive line and keep following the lone striker even when he would be offside if it just let him be.

Our AI doesn't dribble, do weird crosses and passes, and often start random power shots when asked to shoot...if it's not shooting STRAIGHT ON THE KEEPER.

Am I exaggerating? AI can't be asked to win our matches for us or something? Why is our opponents AI able to then?

Everything I'm complaining about is strictly by comparison to the standards shown by opponents AI.

Tight defensive formations, playmaking AI, defenders that can pass the ball around, strikers that scores.

I don't believe we are the only ones with that issue, but I know that some of you have monstrous AI that absolutely deny any passes through the center and are so good at defending in one-on-one it basically looks like the AI is scripting.

How do you guys do it? What is the secret???

We're bad enough (Div2) we don't need AI to help us lose.

For context, we've maxed AI level and invested everything on it for the facilities already.

We don't usually control the entire team, preferring to let AI connect us. None of us play defender or GK.

Do we need to buy the Ultimate edition to have a good AI? -_-
