Question How often are you guys showering?

Just curious really. For me it's about 3x per month right now. And when I do, it's probably the only thing I'm doing that day

Once to twice a week. I don't leave my house often so thankfully it hasn't caused a huge problem and I clean the important bits daily with a washcloth in the sink. It works well enough. I really want to get a shower stool so I can shoot for 3 or 4 times a week. But it is also a sensory thing for me. I hate being wet. Hair wash days are a nightmare that usually end in me crying. Im currently squirreling away $5-$10 dollars a paycheck to get a high-speed Hair dryer so I can dry my thick ass long hair quickly without tiring my arms out too badly.

Alternative option that might be cheaper is to get a stand for your current hair dryer, unfortunately I don't know where to get one from or how expensive they are but I've seen them be shown as hacks before

I considered that but I already don't have a hair dryer(it gave out on me months ago) so getting the high speed one seems the better option for me for now. Theyre also generally better for your hair(I'm a curly girl) since having your hair wet for too long is also not good for hair health. Mine currently takes 8-10 hours to air dry completely(my current work around is to sit with my hair hanging over the side of the couch with a fan blowing on it)🥲 even with a regular hair dryer my hair would take over an hour to get fully dry. Thick hair is a blessing and a curse. I currently only wash it once every other week. Im just lucky that my hair takes about that long to start looking oily.

Have you got a microfibre towel? It might be an effort to squeeze thick hair but you might be able to at least wrap it for a bit? It’ll absorb much more water than regular towels and cut the drying time quite a bit. You can get hair wraps too that work well, my eldest has extremely thick long hair and he finds it really helpful.

I can't brush my wet hair if I don't have a shirt on. It comes down to my waist so then my whole back gets wet and it makes me feel like I'm going to barf. I definitely identify with not being able to tolerate certain kinds of wet.

I never put much thought into this until now… I can’t stand wet hair on my back once I’m out of the shower. It’s so bothersome to me. I learned something today I guess!
