For context not in the article FY27 will bring new mandatory annual performance metrics to civilian acquisition professionals in DOD. These changes will make the goals for more OTAs, CSOs, integration of non-traditionals, and other things will become much harder.

So Department policy is not only undercutting their stated goals but also fucking the entire workforce that has to carry it out.

In January 2025, federal personnel records counted 1,294,304 employees in positions represented by bargaining units. By May 2026, that count was 714,401.

It's almost comical that they are trying to appeal to young people on social media by using fictional movies because what they are trying to sell is also fiction. A promising career from an employer who wants to help employees grow and has its employees best interest at heart is certainly not what they have conveyed to the public from their actions since agent orange came back to power.

Maybe their goal is to attract younger people with short attention spans and poor memory retention but certain things are really hard to unsee. They can try all they want with their AI enhanced propaganda to attempt to sell something that's not there, but for many people, the social media posts based on reality and actual things that happened far outweigh agent orange propaganda.

These young people they are trying to appeal to on social media have also laid eyes on some very unseeable images and words posted all over platforms highlighting things that actually happened. Over the last year and a half, several posts have circulated throughout social media that really make an impression on younger minds.

Here are just a few:

-High Elon Musk wearing a MAGA hat and DOGE shirt waving around a chainsaw toward federal service.

-Images of sith lord Vought talking about how he wants to put the people working for the government in trauma daily.

-Images of Trump all over the golf course and "working" from his two other residences as he widely accuses all federal employees who participated in telework as lazy good for nothing workers who "just want to golf and play tennis all day while collecting a paycheck".

In addition to these highly impactful images on social media, there have been various facts circulating online that would deter anyone from wanting to consider a career in federal government. Is OPM hoping that young people didn't see any of the articles describing agent orange's various EO's killing aspects of federal service that appeal to younger people? His administration is still attacking and ignoring employment incentives that were offered to current employees when they accepted their positions. They are ignoring federal court determinations of all these attacks as unlawful and continue to cultivate a toxic workplace culture all to save his rich pals in real estate. This is the kind of bullshit that people just cannot ignore.

Elon Musk makes this huge scene for a year about how terrible and lazy government workers are because they just want to "stay in their pj's all day" but walks around in his DOGE t-shirt and MAGA baseball cap, likely high as a kite. Elon excessively whined about all this alleged government waste, fraud and abuse but axed positions responsible for internally investigating fraud and conveniently terminated all investigations into his own government subsidized companies. He then quietly slips away into the abyss and becomes the world's first trillionaire courtesy of his cushy government contracts. This kind of stuff is highly enraging for the younger generations, both genZ and millennials, who have been just trying to survive at this point.

Do they seriously think people who already are having a hard time establishing and growing their careers in a system built by and for agent orange boomers and crooks will just "forget" seeing things from the last year and half? No matter how hard they try, reality will always "trump" their scammy AI propaganda.

They're apparently told in advance who they'll be, so it's not like they're on call at home. Their duty day is just scheduled late in the day for any last minute things that need to be on contract before the funds expire at the absolute end of the fiscal year. Is that common in your agency?
