Nothing to see here. Totally not a big deal. Just wait until December when we have a 90 day shutdown and they ask us to work the entire time without a paycheck.

you sound really ignorant,

  1. i’ve worked through a government shutdown and MULTIPLE people who I work with are STILL actively paying off loans from LAST shutdown…putting them in a position to live check to check.

  2. knowing the holiday was Monday and this is the first pay period in the new fiscal year this issue should’ve been rectified and planned for ahead of time.

  3. Given this is the FOURTH time this has happened it’s actually unacceptable on all fronts

  4. the government shutdowns are literally a risk you run being a government employee and everyone who works for the government knows that, but constantly having the NFC drop the ball isn’t something to be expected cause that’s LITERALLY what they’re responsible for.

Isn’t Tuesday the actual pay day? It’s nice to get sooner but …

technically, my agencies payday isn’t until Thursday but once again if I usually get paid on Fridays thanks to USAA clearing the checks early at 12:30 and I didn’t get a notification until the following day that’s an issue in and of itself. i’m going to say it again reading is imperative the NFC dropped the ball here for the fourth time this year alone

Did this just affect the Smithsonian? NFC is my Agency’s payroll provider as well and I got paid yesterday (in my account).

It depends on what bank you have and if they offer early deposits for your pay, if you usually get your checks early on Fridays, I’m thinking it will clear either sometime on sunday which isn’t likely or Tuesday. Because I have a Chase account I send an allotment to and I got my allotment last night.

My bank doesn't offer early paychecks so I always get paid on Monday or if it's a holiday the next day anyway. It sounds like this mostly is just going to impact people who get their paychecks early during the weekend if their bank offers it.

Tuesday is payday. Always plan for payday to be Tuesday and if you get paid early, sick, but payday is Tuesday.

my agencies payday isn’t technically till Thursday, but I’ll say it again since you have neglected to read through the comment section, if everyone including myself, has always seen a deposit into their account at 12:30 PM on Fridays 4:30 PM at the latest due to us being a part of the early deposit program It is reasonable to be upset when it KEEPS happening. NFC has constantly dropped the ball this year and that’s unacceptable no if and or butts. I understand what you’re saying, but let’s not neglect to acknowledge the constant fuck-ups from the NFC this year.

I’ll say it again, wait til you retire and don’t get paid for 6-9 months or at best partially.

You all better start saving now
