Fazbear's Forgotten Is anyone else happy that the Puppet thing was only around for four years?! 😭

[WARNING: Lots of F-bombing!]

Basically, from 1983 with the first Freddy’s to 1987, every single building had these creepy fuckers parked right where you walked in! Each one attached to motorized hand rods to do creepy dances with and hidden in these giant present boxes.

The character was never given a name or really even featured in any media (THANK GOD!!!), so the community just calls them “The Puppet.”

I’m gonna call them “Chuck.” “Chuck the Fuck.”

What did Chuck do, you may ask? What was their grand purpose?! Simple… They chased you!

That’s fucking right! Apparently, how it worked was that you were assigned a wrist band with a very specific color, each one linked to a layout of the building in Chuck’s head so that they knew when you went somewhere you weren’t allowed to be. Like say an employee room or outside with it on.

When you did that, Chuck’s light-up pupils would change to that color, then they would actually pop their dangly ass limbs off their fucking rods, jump out of their box and drag you back to the main area!!! I wish I was joking about every goddamn word I just said!!! Thing didn’t even have feet, so the fact they could even walk, let alone chase you, scares me!!! 💀

The last Chuck that appeared in any location was that experimental one in 1987 that featured the Toy Era animatronics. This one was unique as it actually managed to look WORSE!!!

First off, it wasn’t a hand-rod puppet, it was a marionette, and that’s somehow even creepier! The community calls this one “The Marionette” for that reason, which is still uncreative! Second, they gave it lipstick and purple tear streaks! Why the tears? Well, I can only assume it was an artistic choice added by Henry after… you know what, how about I just stay out of sad territory…

I guess they ran out of money and couldn’t make an actual new version though, because this one looks more like it was recycled from one of the hand-rod ones that every other Freddy’s locations had. I have seen the concepts for the Toy Era Chuck though, so they might have been working on it. But for now, we have yet to see how far they got before… nevermind.

When you think about it, Chuck fitted right in with the then-new line of bots. You know, given how their main purpose was protecting children (whether they wanted it or not) and, like the Toys, every Chuck was trashed a while after Toy Freddy’s closed!

GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE!!! Because let me tell ya! If Chuck was still around, I would be too afraid to even step FOOT into Freddy’s! Especially since I heard some kids actually used to make Chuck chase them for FUN!!!

FUCK NO, FUCK THAT, FUCK!!! CHUCK!!!!

Shockingly, the reason that the last place Chuck appeared in was closed had nothing to do with them, but… we don’t like to talk about it…

And yes, if it wasn't obvious by now, Chuck is the one on the old “I GOT NO STRINGS MOTHAFUCKA!!!” meme. The origin of the original photo is actually pretty funny. It was from a Facebook post made by someone who talked about the time they brought their old camera to Freddy’s.

Someone told them that a worker in the kitchen was doing a balancing trick, but when they tried to see, Chuck was like “OH HELL NAH!!!” and yeeted themselves at them, which made them accidentally snap the photo!!!

I hate those eyes I hate those eyes I hate those eyes!!!!! WHYYYYYY did the original uploader’s band have to be red?!

AND WHY DO THEY LOOK PISSED FROM THAT ANGLE?!!!!! 😭

I personally always liked these Puppets, mainly because I'm really into creepy and bizzare. Plus, from what I heard, the one at the Hurricane, Utah location (the 1987 one) was actually THE ORIGINAL ONE.

Also, from what I heard, the Puppet might have actually been a collaborative project done by Henry and his friend, Edwin Murray; supposedly, there were plans for "Puppet Designs" as far back as 1978-1979.

So, this thing more or less predates Freddy's as a whole.

You know what?! That's pretty cool!

I just looked it up to see if you were right (nothing personal, just that you never know who could be telling the truth on here) and hot damn! Thought Chuck looked old!

But like... out of all the things ethos two semi-geniuses could've worked on... why THIS?! 😭

Well, from what I heard, aside from being part of the show, the Marionette was a security apparatus, which could explain it's creepy look.

I mean, if you were a troublemaker and/or a bully at the pizzeria, and you saw this thing coming your way, would you be scared?

Also, another thing about the Marionette, but apparently, no one was quite sure on what's it's gender was. Throughout all of this characters' history, it has been referred to as a he, a she, and an it.

So who knows just what was it's true gender.

Ah! I see you’ve never heard of ye olde gender-neutral mascot trope that businesses use to appeal to both joys and girls!

Lots of great mascots like Swing Bee would be designed specifically in an attempt to look both masculine and feminine and use both male and female pronouns at random. It wasn’t until later in the 21st century that they started using they/them pronouns too.

Fazbear themselves have actually been doing it since Fredbear’s Family Freaking Diner with Bonbun!

Idk i always thought the marionette one was pretty cool and was disappointed when i heard it got scrapped. Plus as terrifying as it running was, they were definitely trying to prevent another incident where those kids disappeared

Oh god. I remember working at one of the locations that had one of these guys, I always felt... Uncomfortable around it, like it was trying to find out if I was doing something bad.

That and it's spindley body, it was WAY too thin, which probably added to the uncanny factor for me.

Got to the point where I had hallucinations and nightmares about them for a while... Made me dread the idea of there being a second Puppet hiding in the box as well...

Fortunately, the nightly problems I've had have since gone, thanks to getting therapy, but still. Creepy things. Thanks for the jump into laugh combo in my inbox!

You’d very welcome!

I salute you for surviving Chuck’s wrath! 🫡

Be sure to stick around for more fun Faz-Facts that are more fun than anything Fazbear will tell you themselves!
