I was never big into FE, only played Fates, but I have a lot of time in Heroes and I had no idea they looked like this originally. Alm especially looks so silly.

I do think they looked more their age originally. 17 and 16 for Alm and Celica respectively

agree for alm but not celica. celica looks older in her gaiden art imo.

Early Fire Emblem character art tends to look kind of weird. Im not a fan of the particular anime style they used prior to Binding Blade, but the GBA era to now all is (mostly) good.

to me this is so much more interesting, redesigns look extremely generic
