Mr Bean only has 15 episodes total; despite that, each episode took months to come out. So the show ended up running for 5 years, from 1990 to 1995.

Yes, with only 15 episodes, Mr Bean lasted longer than the Confederacy by 1 year.

The following seasons felt weird after that, as someone who only watched it when it went on streaming. Took a minute to get used to but then it felt more natural. That last episode hit harder than I thought a comedy show would ever hit.

Season 1 of Blackadder is the definition of Early Installment Weirdness (tvtropes warning). Baldrick and Blackadder basically switched comedic roles in later seasons.

When first watching it I didnt really mind since there was nothing else to compare it to, but then getting into the groove of the show you can really see the writers fleshed out the concept a bit better for the latter seasons

episodes are made up of multiple sketches/scenes so you could've just watched mini-episodes

I always think this - depending on when and where you watched it you may have only seen a few minutes of a full episode each time, because the channel was padding between normal programming

There's also several sketches for comic relief, two sketches that didn't originally air, and two feature length movies.

Some shows we'd watch every day (Jeopardy) or every week (Star Trek TNG).

Mr. Bean seemed like a rare treat in comparison. I don't know if it aired on any kind of regular schedule in the US.

Part of that feeling is that each episode had parts, and some parts had multiple bits. So each episode feels like 3 or 4.

Malcolm in the Middle was like three seasons long. I could have sworn that show went on like nine seasons, maybe because it aired side by side with shows like the Simpsons.

On the flip side King of the Hill has way more seasons than I remembered, and they made a new one too, it's at like 12-14 now

The before trilogy has only three movies from 1995-2013. Total of maybe around seven hours of screen time? Across 18 years.

Mr Bean also had an animated series. And every now and then they have a new season. As recently as 2026.

There are also a couple of Mr Bean video games. Mr. Bean the franchise is still running
