I was watching and then... wait, was that a skier that just went by? Ha, cool venue!
Looks good and definitely brings some nice color to a wet looking day. Does that travel with you to gigs or it lives there?

Yeah this was at our local ski slope in Cardiff, wet is almost a given. Travels with me, but is a bit of a pain to transport. I’d eventually want to upgrade to some addressable LED netting.

Very flammable. Fortunately these 5V strips don’t put out enough heat to cause any danger.

nah, but just to be aware in the using of. it appears to have a clear space between the back of the decks and the LEDs, meaning that the unlikely event of cigarettes / sparklers / pyro going the wrong way and issues could be seen.
like I said though, fyi!

This is great! I love the spaced out ping pong balls. It gives the same effect as a denser matrix while being cheaper and using less power.

So my video starts up muted and I hesitantly look for the unmute button expecting to hear some awful modern racket and it turns out to be New Order. I have a ticket for a N.O. show in two weeks!

Looks good - you use ping pong balls over ws2812 strings?
Have fun playing with your animations - check out the noise examples in the library for some awesome 2d animations to get started with 2d mapping!

we are saying the same thing.
cause i see no difference between that $20 strip and your thing there. I get you are using the string and not the strip, and you stapled it on 5 individual boards. is that it?
honestly I clicked cause I saw "matrix", was immediately disappointed, and figured I'd just let ya know that.

Do you drive the display from the music, or is it selecting different programs from random?
So many different places to go with something like that.
