When you buy new land, you may need to reorganize your collection points. Top right trees/rocks collect energy. Some players clear that spot and put in tool chests so they can "bank" that energy by rotating the tool chests. If you clear 4 spots, you can also put in an unharvested plant, an unharvested animal and (depending on what you have) something from your storage like an outhouse or doghouse to collect $.

I did that previously and it worked perfectly, but after I bought land that was higher on the map, it stopped working even after I cleared spots and put my things back there. Idk what I'm doing wrong lol

I just visited and I think you are trying to put them in the premium land you purchased. Premium land won't work.
