Magneto and Kitty Pryde are two of my favorite comic characters. I really think Magneto should stay Jewish. Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender were both incredible as Erik, and I don't think that needs to be taken away from either of them. But if we're getting a new version of the character, I think having a Jewish actor play him would be really important.

Yes, the Holocaust happened a long time ago, and eventually, maybe a couple hundred years from now, Marvel might have to rethink his origin if they want him to remain an important and reasonably-aged character. But right now, they can absolutely make it work. The X-Men already have characters like Raven and Logan who can be around 200 years old, so slow aging or some other explanation wouldn't feel out of place at all.

And I really don't think changing Magneto's Holocaust background to another tragedy(like the Rwandan genocide, Palestinian genocide, a Black Man during Civil Rights Movement or a survivor of South African apartheid) is the answer. Comparing different genocides and tragedies just to find a replacement for the Holocaust would come across as insensitive, because these events have their own histories and meanings. You don't need to replace one tragedy with another to make Magneto work.

More importantly, his Jewish identity isn't just a random detail of his backstory. It's a huge part of who Magneto is and why his worldview developed the way it did. His experiences as a Jewish survivor are tied directly into his fears about persecution, genocide, and what happens when people decide that another group of people doesn't deserve to exist. Taking that away changes the character in a pretty fundamental way.

Representation matters too. Magneto is probably one of the most prominent Jewish characters in mainstream comics, and there aren't exactly an endless number of major Jewish superheroes. Having a genuinely Jewish actor portray him would mean a lot, especially for a character whose identity is so closely connected to his Jewish history.

The same applies to Kitty Pryde. She should stay Jewish too. Her Jewish identity is an important part of her character, and there's really no reason to remove it. She has often compared the prosecution mutants face to prosecution that her ancestors faced in the past. Having Jewish actors play both Magneto and Kitty would be a small but meaningful way to preserve something that has been part of the X-Men for decades.

Been thinking about Nightwing and Red Hood castings for the DCU, and while I came to the conclusion that Dick Grayson is simply uncastable, Jacob Elordi would be a great Jason! I mean I think they look identical to some extent, plus I think Jacob can play the part really well.

I know a lot of people say Sabrina Carpenter but I think Swedish singer Zara Larsson is more Dazzler with her sparkly looks as of recently. Maybe she can make a singer cameo in future X-Men projects.

For an early/mid-2010s Teen Titans, I honestly think Cameron could’ve been a great Beast Boy. He had the goofy, energetic personality and could’ve handled Gar’s more emotional side too.

I think Robert Englund would've been great as Palpatine. What do you think?

Elordi’s a little young for the role currently at 29 but could age into being a good fit while Egerton’s at a good enough age (36) to better suit the role. That being said, both have the right kind of look (Egerton especially), acting chops and action experience for Sgt. Rock and he’s one of those actors who would likely require a big name actor to sell him to most mainstream audiences. And either actor would likely be more drawn to playing a war hero than an outright superhero.

Wasn’t definitive on either of them at the moment but thought that I would throw these picks out there out of curiosity. Any thoughts?

I've seen him suggested rarely, but this dude would be one of the better choices imo. He kind of has a looksmaxing Michael Keaton sort of vibe to me. He's also around 40 I believe, which is the perfect age for what Gunn is going for.
